"Yea mom!", I yell down the stairs. Today was August 4th, exactly 2 weeks before i had to go to ASU. I was so nervous. Am I going to be good enough? Am I going to be one of those "stupid people" that really don't know anything about the art of music? WAS I GOING TO BE THE ONLY ONE THERE?!?! Well... That last one one was an obvious answer, no but it'll definitely feel like it! What if-- My thoughts were interrupted as my mother was standing in my doorway talking to me. "Amber, are you okay? I was talking to you while I was making breakfast and you weren't answering. It's like you were dead" she chuckled. I wish I was dead right now. School in 2 weeks and mom's idea of breakfast.. it's not like she always burns the fucking food and we all have to sit at the table and cringe while we try to eat it. "Yea mom, i'm fine. Just kinda nervous for school..." she looked at me with worried eyes, "You don't have to go if you don't want to!" My mom was so sad that I'd decided to go so far away and not somewhere close. She even wanted me to go to online school just so i could be with her all the time. "I'm gonna be okay mom. This is my passion, my dream! it'll all work out great!" I cheered as my mom's frown slowly turned upwards. The truth was just that, I wasn't ready to go. But, at the same time I needed to leave. This town just haunts me with memories of my father. My dead father. It would be a getaway. I started to fall into a deep sleep as my mom was downstairs once again. That's how I tend to get away from her ugly ass cooking! haha.
