XO POV

"Xo would you like to meet my parents?" I heard Ronny ask me. I froze, I was not expecting this at all.

Slowly I turned to face him in his car. "Your parents?" I restated as a question, and he just nodded.

"Yeah, I would like for you two to meet, considering the situation." He said awkwardly. I could sense that he really wanted this.

I sighed, "Sure. When?" I asked.

"How about this Saturday night, for dinner?" He suggested.

"Okay." I agreed hesitantly.

He smiled, "Great. I'll text you with the details later." He said, quickly driving off.

"Great, can hardly wait," I mumbled sarcastically, walking up the steps to my apartment.

When I got home, Stacey was already home. "Hey how was your appointment?" Stacey asked me as I kicked off my shoes. "

It was fine. The doctor said the baby looked healthy and we got a picture." I said.

"Let me see!" She squealed and I pulled them out of my purse and sat next to her on the couch.

She looked at them and gushed, "Awws," at them.

After handing them back to me she turned to me, "So how was going with Ronny?" She asked seriously.

"It was surprisingly nice. He was really interested and willing to do the papers and we went out for food after. I had a good time." I said honestly with a smile on my face. Stacey smiled and poked me teasingly.

"There was one thing though," I started.

"What is it?" She asked. "He asked me to meet his parents on Saturday." I said nervously.

Her face was blank. "Don't worry about it. He just wants to share the news. They'll love you and the news. I mean what isn't to like about you." She said reassuringly.

---BREAK----

Saturday quickly arrived and before I knew it I was standing in the mirror examining my outfit. I chose a loose fitting baby-doll style pink dress, I didn't really feel comfortable wearing anything that highlighted my tiny bump. Then I tied my hair in a loose side braid and put on black flats.

As soon as I finished getting ready, Ronny buzzed for me. I quickly came outside to find him waiting again at the steps. He looked handsome in a pair of black slacks and a red button up with his sleeves rolled. When I came outside he grew silent. I stared uncomfortably at my outfit, "What? What's wrong?" I asked nervously.

He looked at my face, "Nothing, you are just so pretty." He complimented.

I smiled, "You're sweet Ronny. You clean up very well yourself." I replied.

We then got into his car and started driving. "So how far away do your parents live?" I asked.

"About a half hour away. That's not a problem right?" He asked me.

I shook my head, "That's fine." I said reassuringly.

Driving around we slowly moved out of the apartment areas and got into neighborhood type areas. Soon we pulled into a very long driveway and as we drove further down, the house finally came into view. I couldn't hold in my astonished gasp as we pulled up closer to what could be called a mansion. Ronny chuckled, "Yeah, my parents like to make a statement." He said. We got out of the car and walked up the front steps. The Newton's House was beige with a black door, and large windows. The house was at least two stories and illuminate from the outside. Ronny opened the front door and I followed him in.

"Mom, Dad! We're here!" He called and slowly I heard footsteps coming closer to us.

"Ronald!" A woman who I could only guess was Ronny's mother squeal. She reached for him and hugged him tightly, kissing him on the cheek in a motherly way.

"Good to see you mom, Dad." He said happily. This is Xo. And Xo these are my parents Liza and Gerald Newton." He introduced us.

They turned to me, "It's a pleasure to meet you. You have a lovely home." I said in a friendly tone.

Gerald smiled, "Nice to meet you Xo. Where did you two meet?" He asked.

"At McQua's Bar. Ronny served me." I explained.

"She ordered an Old Fashioned Dad." Ronny added.

Gerald nodded appreciatively, "Wow. You've got good taste." He said with a chuckle.

Liza was silent the whole time, but I could feel her eyes scanning me up and down. "Dinner is ready now. Let's go." Liza said passively. We all followed her to a large dining hall. The table was long and made of dark wood, a low chandelier hanging from the ceiling. Maroon table cloth and fine china on the table. I sat next to Ronny, his parents across from us. We then had salad served to us and waters. The food was delicious, unlike anything I'd ever tasted before.

"So I feel like now is as any good time to say this." Ronny started and I gulped. I didn't realize how forward he was gonna be.

Mr. and Mrs. Newton looked up at Ronny curiously. "What is it Ronny?" Liza asked curiously.

He looked at both of his parents, "Well Mom, Dad, we wanted to tell you that Xo and I are expecting a baby." He said, looking a me, a smile on his face. I was super uncomfortable, and the blank faces on them wasn't helping.

"How far along is she?" Liza asked.

"Two and a half months." I answered and she glared at me.

"How did this happen." She asked.

"Well I thought you already knew but it's when a boy and a gi-'

"You know what I mean Ronald.' She snapped, 'How could you let this happen?" She clarified.

"We just were drunk and things happened and here we are." Ronny explained with a shrug.

"How could you be so stupid?" Liza asked him angrily, "Knocking up some random girl, how do you know she's not doing this for our money. Think about what this will do to your reputation!" She shouted.

I could feel anger rise in me, "Excuse me?" I asked defensively, "I am not some random girl that is scum. Ronny is a bartender, how could I have possibly known that his parents are wealthy. I have a very good job and make plenty of my own damn money. And your son is a great guy, he made a mistake, but he's not stupid." I said furiously.

Liza's face was shocked, her mouth hung open in an "O" shape. I turned to Gerald, "Well Mr. Newton it has been nice meeting you. However I could say the opposite for you Mrs. Newton. Have a nice snobby life." I snapped. I stood up and grabbed my purse, "I'm sorry Ron, I can't deal with this." I apologized, quickly walking out the door.

Once I got outside I realized I didn't have a way home. I got my phone out of my purse and started to call Stacey when I heard Ronny call after me. I turned around and saw him jogging up to me. "Xo, I am so sorry. I had no idea that she would react like that." He said honestly.

I felt a tear running down my face, a surprise because I was not the crying type. "I just can't believe she said those things. I knew it wasn't on purpose, but making it seem like I was trash just hit me." I said quietly.

"She didn't mean it. She was upset and she really is a proper and old fashioned woman." He tried defending.

I rubbed my face gently, "I can't believe you are defending what she said, this is our child. How can you not be more hurt over what she said." I said upset.

"I am it's just-" I cut him off,

"I can't listen to this right now." I said, "I'm going to call Stacey, I'm going home." I said

"Let me drive you," He said.

"No I'm good," I snapped.

"Xo I know you're upset but you're pregnant, I'm not letting you walk alone at night." He said firmly. I sighed and walked to his car, getting in the passenger seat.
