After I finished exercising all the horses I ran inside my old house. I went straight to the phone and dialled Harley Cam's number. The phone rang three times before the other end was picked up.
"Hello"
"Hi Mr.Cam this is Carmen Morris. I am fixing your horse."
"Oh what's wrong"
"Nothing sir I just wanted to invite you to come to Heartland to see how your horse is doing."
"Have you fixed him?"
"I think so" I heard a grumble on the other end then nothing. I hung up the phone confused but shrugged it off and walked to Lars' stall.
Lars must have heard me coming cause he stuck his head out of his stall and whinnied. I walked into Lars stall and checked him over. I noticed that his breathing was really hoarse so I decided to let him get some fresh air. I put on Lars's halter and led him out of the barn.
The sun shone in my eyes as I walked Lars into a field right beside the barn. I took off Lars's halter and let him graze. I laid down on the cool ground and fell into a beautiful sleep.

I walked Lars back toward the barn after a few hours feeling so very refreshed. A truck pulling a horse trailer drew up to the house and out jumped my Auntie Amy along with my Uncle Ty. Amy waved and ran over to me while Ty went inside. Amy gave me a big hug and did the same to Lars.
"How are you kiddo?" Amy asked as she messed my hair.
"I am good how are you?"
"Great. What were you just doing?"
"Oh I was just getting Lars away from all the dust. He has a little bit of the heaves I think."
"Well do you want Ty to take a look at it later?"
"Sure that would be great." I turned away from Amy smiling big I gave her a little wave while I walked away. I put Lars into his stall then ran to the house.
I went inside and took off my boots. I walked into the living room to see the whole family talking excitedly to Amy and Ty. I sat on the couch beside my grandpa but everyone just calls him Tim. Tim kissed the top of my head and put his arm around me.
"How are those horses coming along out there?" Tim asked asked me.
"Good actually I think I fou-" I was cut off by a knocking on the front door. "I'll get it." I called out. I ran to the door and flung it open.
"Well don't just stand there show me my horse." Harley Cam snorted.
"Oh right" I pulled on my boots and Led Harley to the barn. I quickly grabbed Leroy's tack and saddled him up. I walked Leroy into the corral and mounted. I started off in a walk then eased Leroy into a trot. I kept picking up the pace until Leroy was hardly touching the ground. I decided he had had enough so I slowed him down to a walk.
"How did you do it?" Harley asked.
"It really wasn't hard I just replaced his English saddle with a Western saddle. You got yourself a great horse here Mr.Cam."
"Thank you Carmen. I think I am going to take Leroy home now."
"Okay I will get him ready for you." I led Leroy into the barn and untacked him. I brushed Leroy well and put on his travel wraps. I put Leroy's halter on and led him out to Harley's waiting trailer.
"Thanks again I already paid your mother." Harley said to me and got in his truck. I led Leroy onto the trailer and tied him up.
"Goodbye boy. You be good now." I whispered into Leroy's ear before closing the trailer door. I watched as Leroy disappeared in the distance.
"Your a good rider"
"Thanks you are too." I replied to Amy's comment.
"I am serious you should go in competitions."
"I'll think about it."
"Do you want me to help you with some of the horses?"
"Sure" I turned to Amy withe smile appearing on my face. "Let's go." I raced towards the barn in a flurry of emotions.

"All of the horses are saddled up and ready to go." Amy said from Tadpole's stall.
"Good. Now I will tell you what their problems are."
None of the horses are mine except for Lars but I want another one.
"Bomber doesn't like bridles. Sapphire kicks at trees. Tadpole is scared of hats. Corny shakes uncontrollably. Poppy hates men."
"Well we got your hands full. Let's get started."

"What a long day."
"Tell me about it." Amy and I had finished with the horses and were now sitting on the veranda drinking lemonade.
"You know when I was your age I had a boyfriend where is yours?" Amy joked.
"I don't have one."
"Guess what"
"What?"
"Ty and I are going to pick up Spartan tomorrow."
"Really he is better already?"
"Yup I am so excited to see my boy. Hey maybe we can go on a ride together."
"I would like that." I said and closed my eyes. I felt Amy leave me alone on the veranda. I thought about all the great memories I had and how much I love my family. Then I fell asleep.
