I was in a field, my eyes scanning the vast horizon of green grass and the odd tree. "Where am I?" I said to myself as I started to walk around. Suddenly, two large grey wolves emerge from the trees and run towards me. I start to panic and I flee, my legs pumping in an effort to escape the wolves. But no matter how hard or fast I ran, the field never changed nor did the wolves disappear. I looked back, ready to see the dripping jaws that would soon be on me, but to my surprise, the wolves had stopped running. They should still and just watched me. Then, to my horror, the wolves started growing. They stood on their hind legs and they transformed into two beautiful men. The wolf-men were twins, their blonde hair thick and falling to their tight waist and around their heavily muscled arms. I was entranced by their beauty, I started to walk towards them. Their eyes were molten gold and their perfect lips were turned in matching smiles. As I approached, their smiles turned into sneers. I stopped walking towards them, something in me was screaming to stay away from them. I turned once again and tried to run, but one of them was blocking my path. "He's coming for you, don't be afraid," said the one standing in front of me. My heart started pounding and I screamed when the one behind me lifted me into his arms. They started running, to where I had no idea. After a while, they placed me down in front of a large tree and took a step back. Then a man emerged from the tree, and he's blue eyes burned into mine. I fell to my knees in front of the man who I was certain was a God, his beauty surpassing that of the twins or any man I knew. The man bent down and placed his lips on mine...

I woke up with a start, my heart pounding and my breath ragged. I glanced at the clock on my phone: 02:37 am. I sighed and pulled my blankets off me, swinging my legs and body out of the bed. I crossed the room and went to the bathroom for a drink of water. Once I got it, I returned to my room amd went to the balcony, picking up my cigarettes on the way. I opened the sliding door and walked out, lighting up a cigarette. I leaned against the railing and drew deeply, my mind going back to the dream. His blue eyes burned into mine, he's eyes were beautiful, hard like ice yet warm and deep. I blew out my smoke and watched the stars, more than a thousand twinkled back at me. I finished my cigarette and crushed it in the pot before going back inside. I closed and locked the door before climbing under my blankets, though my mind was too awake. The dream was strange and made no sense, and no matter how much I tried to forget it, my mind wandered back to the man with blue eyes...

As I tucked my white top into my black high waisted jeans, my mind fell in and out of sleep. I had lain awake for three hours this morning and the bags under my eyes were proof of it. When I had finished dressing, I did my makeup, loading base under my eyes. I combed my hair and set it in a long braid, throwing it over my shoulder. I grabbed my bag and headed downstairs, saying goodbye to Apollo on the way. I grabbed a banana on the way out and went to my car, eating the fruit as I got in. I drove to school, thankful for clear skies. I pulled into the parking lot and searched for Nicola's car, but unable to spot it. Deciding to wait, I pulled out a book from the glove compartment and leanef back in the seat. After about twenty minutes, my phone beeped. I put the book in my lap and reached over to my bag and pulled out my phone. As I unlocked it, it beeped again. 2 New Messages.
Nicola: where are you? Deela's driving me nuts!
I replied with I'm here, hold on :/.
When it sent, I went to the second message.
Unknown: I'm a secret admirer... D.
I replied: what is your name?
I hit send and got out of the car, wondering who he was. I was flattered, of course. I had never had s secret admirer before and it was sweet, but just a little bit creepy. I spotted Nicola's car parked underneath a tree and saw her and Deela sitting in it. From where I stood, I could see the exasperated look on Nicola's face as Deela spoke, never stopping to take a breath. Nicola rolled her eyes and spotted me, her face lighting up as if she was excited for an escape. I smiled and walked over, opening the car door so Nicola could get out.
"Thank you, " she sighed and stared daggers at Deela. "She has be talking non stop about the people we might get for the new foreign exchange program."
"We might be getting French people and Germans and apparently there will be a few Russians too," Deela said excitedly. No doubt she was hoping for sexy foreign boys.
"Need I remind you that you have a boyfriend? "
I said sarcastically. Deela may have had a very serious, very amazing relationship but she couldn't help but perve on hot guys. Nicola, too, was excited for the new students, hoping for hot guys with sexy accents.
"When are they coming? " Nicola asked.
"Next week Monday, only two days!"
I gave a surprised look, I had forgotten it was Friday. The week had dissappeared very quickly and the weekend was upon us. Deela began forming images of what she wanted them to be like, but soon stopped at the sight of Isaac walking towards us.
"Dee-Dee!" he shouted as he waved. Deela jumped up off the hood of the car and ran to him.
"Hey baby, I missed you, " she said as she walked into his open arms. "How was your science thing yesterday? "
"It went great, " Isaac said. "I blew up Professor Jensen." Deela laughed and so did I as I imagined the white bearded professor with his pristine coat covered in black soot and chemicals.
"Want to go grab some breakfast quickly? " Isaac asked Deela, taking her hand and leading her towards the cafeteria.
"Bye guys!" They both said and waved as they walked away. Nicola and I smiled and watched them.
"It must be nice to have a boyfriend like that," Nicola sighed.
"You should be saying it must be nice to have a boyfriend, period," I joked. Nicola gave me a slight slap on the arm before hooking her arm in mine.
"Come on, let's go get our books so long, " she said as she led me towards the lockers. Tje lockers were situated on the upper level of the school by the gym, and it took us a few minutes to make our way there. Nicola's locker was about thirteen lockers away from mine and she had the unfortunate luck of getting the bottom locker. When she had to bend to get her books, I merely reached everything at hand level. The inside of my locker was decorated with photos and small shelves, plus a small rack where I would hang my jacket. Each locker had a built in drawer, rack, shelves and a lot of space for all our books and stationary. I pulled my phone from my bag and put it on one of the shelves before transferring the books I had taken home back to their spaces. I picked out my Geography, Zoology and Maths text books and placed them in my bag along with a pad of lined paper and a few pens. After I had taken what I needed, I closed and locked my locker, turning towards Nicola who was now walking towards me.
"Zoology? " she asked. "Since when do schools give Zoology? "
"Our school gives everything, " I said with a small laugh. Nicola didn't do anything in the Natural Science Wing so she hardly knew the classes. As we walked to our separate classes, we spoke about the foreign exchange program.
"I do wonder which students we'll be getting, " I said.
"Probably German and French or so," she said. "Those are the most common ones."
"I hope we get some Russians," I said. "It will be nice to have someone I can actually converse with."
"Ok Putin, sorry we're not all Russian experts like you," she said sarcastically with a laugh.
"Ze mother tongue ees ze only tongue," I said in a good Russian accent.
"That shit is wack," she laughed as she said her usual catchphrase.
"If only you didn't do German, " I said. "We could be having a very good conversation right now."
"Well you can if we get some Russians, " she replied. We stopped outside Home Economics and she waved goodbye to me before going in. I returned the gesture and walked to Biology. I saw Deela on the way, but before I could greet her, she walked into the Physics lab. I made it to Biology just as the bell rang.

"...and that concludes the lesson on the life cycle of the Western Leopard toad," Mr Syrus said as he turned off the projector. We closed our books and put them away, some people chattering as they did. I put my books in my bag and took out a pencil. I started to doodle on the scrap paper as I waited for the bell. By the time it rang, I had already finished the eyes, so realistic, I could almost see the blue...

The day flew by as quickly as the past week and before I knew it, the final bell had rung. I packed away my English textbook and left the class to go to my locker. I packed my books in my bag and slid my phone into my pocket before I heard Deela calling my name.
"Artsy!" she called. When she reached me, she leaned against the other lockers. "Want to go shopping tomorrow? "
I thought about it, I had a ton of homework but I didn't want to be stuck at home all day.
"Sure, we can go for lunch too," I said. I closed my locker and shifted my bag. I turned and saw Nicola standing by her locker and I beckoned to her. She noticed me and slammed her locker before heading over.
"Hey girls," she said as she hooked her arm in mine, doing the same with Deela.
"Artsy and I are going shopping tomorrow, care to join?" Deela asked.
"Ugh, I can't, " Nicola groaned. "I have to babysit Milana." Milana is Nicola's five year old sister, a very hyperactive child with bouncy dark curls and full of questions. I remember once going to Nicola's house and had to sit awkwardly when Milana asked were babies came from.
"Can't you get out of it?" I moaned.
"Sorry my dears, mom and dad are going to Aunt Kiara tomorrow and you know Kiara," she said. Her aunt Kiara hated children, especially inquisitive ones who like to put their spaghetti stained hands on her expensive white sofas.
"Would you like us to bring you anything back? " Deela asked her as we walked outside.
"Just your pretty self," Nicola joked.
"Oh honey, I would but I wouldn't want to make Artsy jealous, " Deela retorted. I laughed amd unhooked my arm.
"Then I guess Dee and I will be enjoying our alone time together," I said jokingly as I fished my car keys from my bag. "See you tomorrow Dee, bye Nic."
"Bye babe," said Nicola as her and Deela walked off to her car. I turned and walked to the tree where I had parked and unlocked my car. As I sat down, I heard my phone beep. I looked at it and saw an email.

I smiled as I saw there were Russians and locked my phone before starting the car and driving out the lot.

I sat at my desk, my sliding door wide open to allow the fresh air to soak in. I had been doing my homework for an hour, listening to Debussy on my Cd player. My mother was downstairs making dinner and singing in a loud, off key tune. I smiled as I thought how much happier she was now. When my dad left, she went into a depression that nothing could cure. But one day, she just snapped out of it, as if something clicked that he just wasn't worth it. I hummed along to the piano and finished my homework, writing the last few words before closing the book. I leaned back in the chair and stared at the wall above the desk, covered in drawings and photos and notes. I pulled out a piece of paper from my bag and tacked it on the wall right in front of me. As I looked at it, my fingers went to my lips, remembering were the blue eyed man had kissed me in my dreams. I wished silently that I would dream of him again tonight.
"Arti, dinner!" I heard my mother call and I ran out the room, the smell of lasagna hitting me before I even reached the stairs. When I got downstairs, my mother was dishing up two plates. I grabbed one along with a fork and went to fall diqn on the brown leather couch, reaching for the remote. I switched on the large TV, one of the things my mother won in the divorce. I started flipping through channels looking for something to watch. I finally settled on The Simpsons and dug in to my food. I ate quickly, wanting to go shower and wash my hair for tomorrow. Once I had finished, I dumped my plate in the sink and ran upstairs to the bathroom.

I lay my clothes out on the small settee in my room, keeping them ready for tomorrow. As I put my hair into a long braid, I switched off my bedroom light and climbed into bed. I only kept a thin blanket on me, the heat in my room from the weather that was now going from raining to heat almost instantly. I closed my eyes, praying silently for the dream to continue, whispering it over and over until I fell out of consciousness...
