There's this girl with wild blonde hair and the bluest eyes you've ever seen. She's sitting in front of school and it's 8:20am on your first day of school, but you know you are going to remember this day forever. And not because she stole your chocolate, or your terrible jokes about bricks not being good school supplies, but because when she smiles your world lights up.
Her eyes, they fill with passion and you are distracted from her words, because she is just so beautiful like this. You think she was talking about feminism, or your classmate's poor choice of words, but you don't really care, because as long as she keeps talking you are happy.
You see this girl, and you should see a threat*. She's the smartest person you know, oh so pretty, and funny. But she isn't a threat to your confidence. Well, maybe to your sanity. And to your friends, because you just know that once this girl worms her way into your world there will be no escape.
Because she's funny, and smart, and nice (although she has convinced everyone that she's this mean, evil, intimidating dragon). And for your birthday she organises extravagant events, creating picture frames from popsicle sticks or whatever it is you are meant to call them here in Australia. She's responsible for the silver glitter coating everyone's hair, and the locker room, and the floors, and the classrooms...
You don't know how it happened but this blonde takes over your life. She's one of the first people you see in the morning, the reason you take a ridiculously early bus each morning. You think about her all the time, and she thinks of you. When something happens she is the person you want to tell.
She's not the first friend of yours to have a secret account, hell she's the fifth, and you wonder what makes her special. Surely not even she can crack you, make you read, think, feel, write. But then she makes you cry with her short and sweet (like you, she jokes) piece that she dedicates to you. And you know that you are gone, because there was never ever any doubt, it's you and her. It has always been the two of you, and you wonder had there ever been anyone else?
You love this blonde beauty who entered your life and never left, and she you. What would you do without her?
*I'd stay tuned for a rant about how girls/women are conditioned to see other girls/women as a threat.
