Sleep over

*they're just sweet little babies in this one 🥺*

Today was the day, the day Tadashi was going to have his first sleep over at Kei's house, sure he'd been there to play a few times but he'd never stayed the night

He takes a little breath in and looks down at his shorts that went up to his knees along with his shirt that had the word 'taco' sprawled across the chest, he shuffles and his mother lays a hand on his shoulder

"Are you okay sweetheart?" She smiles gently, her thumb rubbing away some of Tadashi's lunch off of his cheek

He hesitates before nodding slowly, she grins and ruffles his hair "that's my Tadashi" she hums and rings the door bell, Tadashi's hold on his bag grows tighter, he hears multiple feet padding inside before the doors ripped open, Tadashi flings himself behind his mothers leg and gulps

Akiteru and Kei stand in the doorway, both scowling at eachother, Kei huffs and turns, his little golden eyes lighting up when they meet Tadashi's green ones "Yamaguchi!" Kei laughs and hugs his friend, Tadashi stutters and hugs back

"T-Tsukki I saw you like two hours ago at school" he wheezes, trying to hint at the loss of air, Kei blushes and pulls away, beaming at Tadashi

"Hi, I'm Akiteru, Kei's older brother" the taller blonde smiles, Tadashi frowns, due to him not recalling seeing this man before, "sorry but our moms at the store getting things for dinner" he chuckles, rubbing his neck

"Oh no that's fine, now Tadashi, promise to be a good boy, I'll see you tomorrow after work okay?" His mother smiles gently and Tadashi bites his lip, nodding heavily, he throws his little arms around her neck and pecks her on the cheek

The two pull away and Tadashi watches his mother leave, A small hand grabs him by the wrist and tugs him inside, earning an annoyed huff from the taller blonde "Kei! Be gentle with your guests will you!" He huffs, scolding Kei

Kei growls and sticks his tongue out "hey Yamaguchi! Mom made cookies before she left, want some?" Kei grins, hand still holding Tadashi's, Tadashi doesn't even have the chance to nod before he gets pulled into the kitchen, it was much different to Tadashi's kitchen, it was big, and had a lot of shelves, Tadashi's kitchen was small, only his mother and him lived at their house

Hands hook under Tadashi's arms and help him into the seat, he looks up and sees Akiteru grinning at him "Kei needs help with that too sometimes" he chuckles and nudges the freckled boy

"T-thank you, A-Akiter-"

"Oh call me Aki-nii!"

"T-Thank you Aki-Nii" Tadashi beams and Kei huffs

"Ah it's like I have a cute brother again" Akiteru grins and ruffles Tadashi's hair, handing him a cookie

"go away, your making me uncomfortable" Kei spits at his brother, Akiteru huffs and grumbles at his brother

"I'm telling dad that your being rude again" Akiteru and Kei start to argue like brothers do, Tadashi can't help but wonder what it's like to have a brother, is it more then just this silly fighting, or is there actually love and protection?

Tadashi shakes his head and nibbles on his cookie "Yamaguchi, what do you wanna do" Kei grins, turning to his freckled friend

Tadashi's eyes widen and his heart begins to pick up "I-I dunno" he mumbles, nibbling little bits of his cookie

"Let's go play in the sandpit with my dinosaurs!" Kei grins and wiggles out of his chair, Tadashi stumbles after him quickly and avoids the back door hitting his backside, he walks over to the sandpit and sits down gently beside Kei

"Here you can be this one" Kei grins, handing him a green t-Rex, Tadashi smiles and the two begin to play like they usually do, until Kei accidently kicks sand in Tadashi's eye

"I-I'm sorry! Oh no! Yamaguchi are you okay!" The little boys lip quivers

"N-no! Tsukki I'm fine, I promise, look!" Tadashi frowns, he tries to show Kei he's alright but it hurts a lot when he tries to open his eye, he whimpers and tears start to pool out from his eyes

"Hey you guys want some ice b- Tadashi! Are you okay?!" Akiteru comes out with a smile that suddenly fades into a concerned frown "Kei what happened?!" He asks as he ushers the two inside, he plops Tadashi on the bench and inspects it

"w-we were playing a-and i accidentally kicked sand in Y-Yamaguchi's eye" Kei whimpers, Akiteru frowns at Kei and huffs

"You should be more careful Kei! If your mean to Tadashi then you'll have no friends left!" He scolds as he places an eyepatch carefully over Tadashi's eye, Akiteru didn't know how to deal with sand in the eye so he was just going to put a patch on and waiting till his Mom or dad got home

Kei lets out a sob and runs to his room, the slam of his door echos loudly through the hall and Tadashi's flinches, "t-thank you Aki-Nii" Tadashi smiles and carefully hops down, he rushes to Kei's room and knocks gently "T-Tsukki? Can I come in?" He whispers

"N-nii-chan isn't there is he?" He whispers back, his voice trembling

"No" the door makes a click sound and the door opens just enough so Tadashi can fit through

Kei looks at Tadashi and breaks into little sobs again, Tadashi hugs his best friend tightly and frowns "what's wrong?" He whispers

"I-I hurt you, now you have a patch" Kei sniffles, rubbing his eyes

"It's okay Tsukki! How about we play pirates!" Tadashi giggles and Kei smiles widely

After an hour and a half of playing Kei's door opens and a blonde woman pokes her head through "hello Tadashi! How is my star doing? Akiteru told me about what happened, lets go get it cleaned up" Tadashi looks up from his place on the pirate ship and nods, Kei grabs his hand and grins

"Your still my prisoner" he giggles and Tadashi joins him

After dinner the boys are told to brush their teeth and hop into their pj's, Kei's dad goes to bring out the spare mattress but Kei shakes his head "Tadashi can sleep in my bed, with me" he beams, his dad chuckles and nods cheerfully

"Alright, well goodnight boys, love ya's" the man places a kiss on Kei's head and on Tadashi's, he's careful not to touch Tadashi's bruised eye, turns out it wasn't sand, but a rock

The man flicks off the light and closes the door gently, the two huddle together and look up at the glow in the dark stars "hey Yamaguchi" Kei whispers, turning on his side,  Tadashi copies and smiles

"Yeah Tsukki?" He whispers

"Those stars remind me of your freckles" Kei snickers, playing with Tadashi's hand

Tadashi feels his cheeks heat up and he giggles tiredly, he's eyes flutter close gently and he whispers "goodnight Tsukki" he yawns, nuzzling into the pillow

Tadashi feels lips on his cheek and he smiles, hearing a tired "goodnight Yamaguchi" before he drifts to sleep
