There are two times in a person's life that they say 'this is it'. The first being their greatest moment. Among these are their wedding day, or the birth of a first child. This moment is when they can just sigh and close their eyes, thinking 'It doesn't get any better than this.' But there is another point in the life in which the words 'This is it' flash in grim letters across the mind.
Right before you die.
It's not a shocking realization, nor is it unsure. When you're about to die you know, but for some reason you just don't care. There is pain, excruciating pain and you know it's there but you can't feel it. The worst part is when the life fades away and in one last waking moment all of the pain and panic rushes into you as you take your final breath. It is a pain more horrible than one could even imagine.
Then suddenly you're floating, and a certain confusion sets over you as you look down. You see yourself, but it isn't really you because you can think and feel but it has your face. That's when you realize it's your corpse. It doesn't bother you though, not as much as you know it should have. You don't even have a moment to ponder why it is that you have died, because out of nowhere you feel hands on your shoulders. A voice booms all around you, resonating inside of your head. Even as it ceases to speak, the words are still hanging in the air. 'Come home, my child. Come home to me.'
You look up. Who has materialized above you, you're not sure, but one thing that you are certain of us that they have a face more beautiful than any other you have seen on earth. It is now that you realize that he is an angel. He guides you upwards, and you float through walls and roofs as if you are swimming through water. Soon you are gone, without a way of return, and you leave the world that you once walked behind you. And now you fly, faster than you could have imagined was possible. You fly, and now as you fly, you see the legendary light.
You fly into the light.
