I stood there motionless.

Speechless.

My body pale as ever.

"Jake Fields falls in love"

"You are that girl"

Repeating her words over and over

I closed my eyes trying to imagine what to say. I've never been in a relationship, let alone a boy actually crushing on me. How did she expect me to get Jake Fields to fall in love with me? I was known as the complete opposite of his 'type'. What did she expect me to say 'sure why not' oh and what's that stupid saying... Oh yeah 'YOLO'. This was really too much.

But then I suddenly felt a shortage of breath as well as my muscles begin to tense, causing my skin to crawl and then the sensation in my knees went weak. I then heard the echoes of the sound of my body hitting the cold hardwood floors, and the horrified screams.

"LEXI!"

"LEXI ARE YOU OKAY?"

I woke up with the bright light of the sun reflecting in my eyes. I looked up towards the ceiling trying to remember where and what I was doing. I then heard both Kayla and Adam's calm and soothing bickering. I listened, hoping it would remind me of what happened. The emotion in Adam's face was full of frustration as well as aggression, trying his best to remain calm likewise, keeping his voice to a whisper.

"I can't believe you asked her to do that?" he whispered as he brushed his fingers through his long chocolate brown hair.

"Come on! You know for a fact it's not that bad" she answered, throwing her arms in the air for a dramatic effect.

"It kind of is. Lexi doesn't deserve to be another one of Jake Field's girls, and you know it" he said getting up and turning his attention to the window.

"Well Lexi always asks me for favors! Why can't she do this for me?" she asked in frustration

"The difference is when she asks you the favor; it isn't the size of an anchor!" He screamed

"Wow."

"Wow what?" he questioned her

"Never in my life did I think the opinion of a mop would matter to me."

"Shut up" he said tightening the grip of his fists.

"And anyways, you are not Lexi and most definitely not the one to make her decision" she shot back

At that moment I wanted to get up and applause for Kayla. Yes Adam is my friend but he tends to be over protective, which could be both good and bad given the situation.

"I for one KNOW Lexi and I KNOW she won't do it" he said ignorantly as he held his head up high

Suddenly everything fell into place. It was now 2:16. About an hour ago Kayla asked me to be the girl to play the player Jake Fields.

"I'll do it" I said firmly adjusting myself to a sitting position.

"What? You'll do it?" both Kayla and Adam said in unison

I swear I imagined their expression of shock nearly as close to mine. What did I just say? Was I actually agreeing to play the player?
