How much proof do you need
To see that my God is here?
Willing to hold you, to mold you
To wipe away your every fear.
Don't you see the rain?
The way it pitters and patters.
It keeps lazily falling and falling
As if no care matters.
It's like a tear
Flowing down a whithered face.
Lazy and dreaming
Allowing the wind to set the pace.
Don't you hear the wind?
As it runs through the fields of grass.
It's like hope that you can't touch
It's what makes the ocean not so vast.
It soothes every aching heart
and greets the skin with a soft caress.
It helps me see so often
how greatly I am blessed.
Don't you feel the sun?
As it beats down on your shoulders.
As it makes the grass grow greener
And makes warmer what was colder.
As it wraps you up,
Can't you feel it warm your soul?
As it makes you stronger
And gives you more control.
Can't you hear the birds
Singing their sweet morning song?
They never miss a beat
and remind you where you belong.
You release a sigh
When you experience all these wonders
THose birds who sing their lovely notes
And the drops that fall by the hundreds.
The sun that beats on for hours,
The wind that blows so gently.
All of these miracles
We can enjoy so unconsequently.
There is a God
He's in my every breath
He's winning over souls
By his love and gentleness.
How much more proof do you need?
