This is to the American Soldier,
Sleepless night of looking over his shoulder.
Thinking about his home across the sea
Dreaming of his wife and family.
This is to the Mom who's serving,
Giving to her enemy what they're deserving.
Facing the dangers: proving herself
Just as much a hero as everyone else.
This is to the Son who's fighting
He's scared to death, but he keeps trying.
When he salutes the Red, White, and Blue,
He's confident in what he has to do.
This is to the brand-new Daddy,
Far away from his newborn baby.
Serving the men and women injured
He's a hero of his own, a prized defender.
Heroes aren't all as we paint them to be.
They press on, but they get weak.
They know pain, but they get through it.
They know fear, but they don't show it.
Real Heroes aren't made of steel.
Their wounds take much longer to heal.
It's not the wound you can touch or feel.
No, these wounds are much more real.
Our country salutes them.
Our honor goes with them.
Our respect is shone through them.
Our Prayers are for them.
God Bless our troops!!
This is dedicated to Cameron Kirk (and all of our other troops).
Cameron has a wife of a little over one year and a little baby girl only a few weeks old. He's a medic in Afganistan. He's a real hero, and he had earned my respect before he was ever deployed. Please pray for him and our other troops, too!
John 15:13 - Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
