He couldn't believe it. This had to be a dream... He pinched his arm discreetly and winced. Prussia looked concerned.
"Are you alright?"
Nope... Not a dream. He stared up at Prussia.
"You see me?" he asked quietly.
Prussia nodded and held out his hand.
"I'm Gilbert Beilschmidt."
Canada took his hand and shook it.
"Matthew Williams."
Matthew had felt a sensation similar to an electric shock when Gilbert touched his hand, and felt a strong urge to recoil. He settled for a small wince. Gilbert tilted his head.
"Are you okay?"
The Canadian nodded and pulled his hand away, shaking his hand and playing with the hem of his shirt. Prussia smiled again.
"I'll go out to the living space now. Calm Francis down."
Canada nodded again and sat at the kitchen table as Gilbert walked out. He dragged his fingers through his hair and bit his lip. He laughed to himself, still not quite believing it.
"He sees me..."
"As it appears."
Matt looked up and saw Prussia leaning against the doorframe, smiling at him. Canada looked down and heard Prussia laugh his weird laugh. Although... Canada quite liked it. He felt his face grow hot and Prussia laughed again.
"How could anyone not notice you? You're so..."
Prussia's sentence trailed off, so Canada looked at him and tilted his head. Gilbert's cheeks were dusted with a light red, and he waved his hand around.
"Never mind. It's not important."
Canada giggled and Prussia's red colour darkened.
"Okay."
Canada quite liked him.

France was no where in sight, that's why Prussia came back to the kitchen so quickly. Prussia pulled out the chair from next to Canada and sat next to him. He gave him a glance and smiled.
"You don't talk much, do you?" he asked.
Matt shook his head, then smiled slightly. Prussia smiled and drummed his fingers on the table.
"You can listen, and I'll talk. I like to talk."
Canada giggled.
"Sure." he said quietly.
Gilbert began to talk, about anything and everything. Canada was fascinated- how could on person have so much to talk about? Canada wasn't sure, but he thought Gilbert was talking about his brother now. They heard a door, and looked to the kitchen door. France burst in, and glared at them both.
"Both of you, out. Now."
Canada shrugged and stood up. He heard Prussia's chair scrape on the floor- a sound they both knew irritated France- and walked out behind Canada. As soon as they'd left the house, Prussia turned to Matt.
"Wanna do something?' he asked.
Canada nodded. Prussia grabbed Matthew's hand and began to pull him along. He picked up in the conversation where he left off, still walking.
"He's such a-a..."
"Hoser?" Canada supplied.
Prussia stopped and looked at Canada, puzzled.
"I-Its a Canadian word for a foolish or uncivilized person." he said quietly.
Prussia paused and stared at him for a moment. Canada was about to say something.
Then Prussia laughed.
The feeling in Matthew's stomach came back.
