Chapter 2

Vanessa's POV:

I was listening to music while doing homework and all of a sudden, I heard someone yelling Lynch. I took out my earbuds and looked at someone with a football uniform. I realized it was Rydel's brother, Riker. He waved to me and I was confused. I looked around me and thought it was someone he knew.

Then, I realized that he was waving at me. I waved confusingly back and saw him chuckled at me; jogging towards the field. I knew he was laughing at me and I, sadly, went back to my homework.

I was more intrigued in seeing what Coach Moon will do to Riker then doing my homework. I watched as Coach Moon yelled at Riker for being a few minutes late. I went back to my homework when Riker started doing laps.

For some reason, my eyes would occasionally wander over to the blonde running laps. I saw the way his blonde hair was sticking to his sweaty face and the sweat that was flowing, like a beautiful waterfall. 

I saw him taking glances at me, smiling. I shyly went back to my homework.

If you're wondering where Rydel is she's at a yearbook meeting, discussing the theme for this year's yearbook. As my thoughts drifted to Rydel and her family. How I never really met them, I would always see them around. How she has a perfect home life, with parents who love her and her brothers.

Rydel's POV:

It was finally the end of the day, I had a yearbook meeting, discussing the theme for this year. The meeting ran 20 minutes longer than usual. I was heading to where Vanessa usually sits.

I saw her looking at someone, then quickly put her head down, trying to look busy. Who is she........Riker!! I silently screamed inside my head. This is the first time she has a crush on a boy!

I did my happy dance and started to head towards Vanessa. "Boo!" I said, scaring her. "Ahhhhh!" She screamed causing everyone to stop doing what they were doing. I saw Riker running towards us.

"Hey is everything okay, Vanessa?" Riker asked looking at her, ignoring me. I scoffed annoyed, waiting for her to answer.

"Vanessa? Are you okay?" Riker asked softly, holding out his hand. I started smiling like crazy! Vanessa looks blankly at him, slowly holding her hand out too. Vanessa carefully placed her hand into Riker's and slowly got up, staring into each other's eye.

Once they were both up, Vanessa quietly said thanks, still staring into each other's eyes and holding hands. I was about to blow my coolness when a football came flying in the air, hitting Riker in the back. They both snapped out of it and awkwardly letting go of each other's hands.

Riker's POV:

SPARKS!! Sparks is all I felt when Vanessa was holding my hand. We awkwardly let go, blushing like madmen. "I better head back to practice," I said looking into her gorgeous, dark brown eyes.
