 So.. here is chapter six. I'm glad that I've held on to your attention. Thanks again for reading!

Three months later…

       The hot fan blew in her face. Blowing her hair in different directions and breaking her sweat. She sat back in her chair as she tried gasping for air. She also watched the clock slowly ticking as she waited for 5 o clock to roll around. She was aching and tired. Noise from all of the machinery blew through her ear drums throwing off her thinking. She had stopped working and only had twenty more minutes left to pretend that she wasn't in the middle of the hell hole Ricky put her in.

       Mr Chenzo walks out of his tobacco filled office and over to Rayne's desk with a stack of extra papers.

       "I need you to file these before you leave."

       "Ok!" Rayne replies glad that she had more work to pass the time. She put the papers on her desk and rubbed on her bulging tummy. Mr Chenzo watched as she fanned herself with her hands and let her sweat trickle down her neck. It took him a while to realize that she left him in a trance. When Rayne was finally able to temporarily get all that heat off her back she looked up and saw Mr Chenzo smirk at her.

      "Is that all Mr Chenzo?" She asked in her super annoyed tone. He suddenly snapped out of it and went back inside his office.

      In no time, it was five o' clock and Rayne heard the honking of Ricky's vehicle horn. She packed away her work and ran out.

                                                                            ~~~
 At home Rayne stared into her mirror and looked at her stomach as she tried to figure out what size her baby was. Are its limbs fully grown out? Is it a boy or a girl? Rayne and Ricky planned to visit the doctors the next morning to determine the sex of the baby. Rayne was so excited that she went straight to bed to speed through the night.
       As soon as Rayne woke up she smelt her mom’s cooking. She loved her mother’s cooking; and often wondered why she never cooked on a daily basis. Ricky would've loved it. Rayne dashed out of her room and right into the kitchen to eat off the plate her mother laid out for her.
       "You seem surprisingly happy today baby." Nancy said. "What has you up in the clouds?"
       "I just feel like today is gonna be a really good day for me." Rayne replied. Her joyous mood was washed away after she heard Ricky yelling from upstairs.
          "Nancy! What's taking you so long to bring me my food?"
       Nancy replies, "Coming Ricky! Calm the fuck down!" Seconds later Nancy places Ricky's plate in front of him. Rayne stared as Ricky ate off of his plate. She watched as he used his nonexistent table manners to eat his pancakes and sausage. Getting syrup all over the side of his face and wiping his sticky hands on his jeans without a care in the world.
         It was then that Rayne realized how much she hated that man. How much she wanted him dead or how happy she would be if he decided to abandon them. Rayne wanted to start a brand new life with her baby and Alex with a clean slate of happiness; but the only person that was standing in the way of that was Ricky.
         "Don't you have somewhere to fucking be?" Ricky says as he notices Rayne's stares and snarls. Right after the doorbell rings and they can see Alex through the glass windows. Rayne grabs her purse and dashes out of the house.
                                                                        ~~~

          "So how was it in there today?" Alex says to Rayne as they're driving over to the doctor’s office.

          "Exactly the same as it always is." Rayne answers. "But I'm not gonna let it get to me today. Today is a good day for us!"

          "Yeah." Alex replies. "It better be a girl."

          "No it better be a boy!" They look at each other and both laugh.

          "Well whatever it is...I'll love it with all my heart Rayne I promise you." Rayne kisses Alex on the cheek and they keep driving along.

                                                                             ~~~
           Rayne laid on her back as the doctor is looked at her insides on the computer screen.
            "There it is!" He says sounding more excited than necessary. "Looks like a little girl to me!"
             "Yes!" Alex yells so that even the people next door could hear him. Rayne was hoping for a boy but either way she was still excited.
            "Just to know that its healthy is all that really matters to me." The doctor said goodbye and left the room. After Rayne got dressed she noticed a woman watching her though the window on the door. Suddenly the women barged in without knocking.
            "Rayne is that you?" She yelled as she ran up and hugged her nearly knocking her to the ground. Rayne suddenly looked up and noticed it was her Aunt Layla who she hadn't seen in years. She was a blonde when Rayne last saw her, and she got into a big fight with Nancy about having Ricky around. They have not spoken to each other since.
          "Aunt Layla I missed you!" Rayne said as she hugged her tightly again.
          "I've missed you too beautiful. How are things at home?"
         "Good." Rayne lies while looking it down. Doing that brought attention to her bulging belly and Aunt Layla immediately reacted.
           "Oh Rayne-"
           "This is Alex by the way. He's her dad." Alex walks over nervously and waves.
            "What are you here for?" Rayne asks Aunt Layla?"
          "Nothing much! Just to find out that my ovaries are damaged and I can't have any kids." Aunt Layla replies. Rayne hugs her tightly again to console her and gently let's go.
             "Thanks sweetheart! So how's Nancy?"
            "Oh you don't have to worry about her...she's perfect."
            "I haven't been around in a while I have to stop by!"
            "Yea you should!"
            "Give me your phone number sweetie and I'll call you okay?"
            "Okay!" Rayne replies.
