Once we were both fully out of the trailer, Quixotic eyed his new surroundings and the other horses he didn't know.  I did too-I couldn't help myself! Girls were everywhere, unloading their thoroughbreds and warmbloods.  I wondered which ones would be my friends and which ones would be my enemies and/or competitors.

Coming back to reality, I led Quix into the stables. The inside was just as beautiful as the outside! My barn at home, Foxtrot Equestrian Center, was beautiful too, but nowhere near this. The oak-constructed stalls gleamed a golden color in the sunlight coming in from the open barn doors on either end of the stable.  The aisleway was so large that you could probably fit three horses length-wise in it! There were 6 hot and cold, stone-made washracks located in the center of the barn, seperating the stalls into 40 on each side of the washracks. That made 80 stalls total! And near the barn doors there were 4 grooming stalls, making grooming, tacking, and untacking an easy task.  There was a humungous indoor arena attached to the barn opposite the washracks, and on one side of the entry way to the arena there was a door leading to a two-story airconditioned lounge that held a full kitchen and over-stuffed couches. On the other side of the entry way was the office of Mr. Tyler, the head trainer at Lakebury that coached many riders to success.

Mr. Tyler was in the indoor ring though, coaching a student over a course of reasonably high-set jumps.
