"There isn't time for unpacking," said Chan briskly. "I've been given today off from lessons to show you around the place. Let's goooo! I want to introduce you to Theo!" I barely had time to put my stuff down when Chan grabbed me and pushed me out the door. "W-What about my lessons then?" I stammered. Chan waved a hand impatiently. "Never mind that, Willy. You're in the same classes as me. You start tomorrow. Now run, man, what your legs for?"
I discovered very quickly that I wasn't used to running. I was out of breath by the time we got to Room 348. "What...What're...We...Here...For?" I panted. "You're not out of breath, are you, Willy?" Chan laughed. "Theo lives alone here. Great, huh? Her roommate transferred out end of last year." Chan pushed the door open without knocking.
I had been under the impression that Theo was a guy, but I'd obviously been wrong. The first thing I noticed about Theo were her eyes. A bright, brilliant green. "Hey, Chan," Theo smiled. "And who's this guy?" Theo raised an eyebrow and jabbed her finger in my direction. "This is Will, but I like to call him Willy. He's my new roommate. Willy, Theo. Theo, Willy." I registered the insulting usage of my name. I grumbled inaudibly under my breath, noticing the huge amount of books on the shelves. I barely had time to ask about them when Theo grinned. "Hi, Willy. I'm Theo Calle." Still muttering, I put a hand up grumpily. "Hey, Theo."
"Well, Theo, we better get going. I gotta show Willy around the school. Bye."
Theo waved.
I don't know if I've said it before, but her eyes were really nice.
