Glee: Book 1 - The New Girl

Chapter 1

The Glee Club is still trying to figure out what songs they should sing for Regionals.

"Come on, guys.  We need some suggestions on songs," Will said.

Brittany raises her hand.

"I think we should sing a Britney Spears song again."

Blaine looks at her.

"Don't you think you've had enough of Britney Spears?," he asks.

Every nods and agrees with him. Mr. Figgins walks in.

"William, this is Elizabeth Helm, one of your new students."

"Oh, welcome Elizabeth," Will says.

"Thanks. You can call me Liz, if you like," Liz suggests.

"Alright, Liz, you can sit right there next to Tina," Will instructs.

He pointed to an empty chair next to Tina Cohen-Chang.  Liz walked over and sat down.

"Now, back to what I was saying. What do you guys thing we should sing for Regionals? No Britney Spears songs," Will said, as Brittany tried to put her hand up.

Liz raised her hand.

"May I make a suggestion, Mr. Schue?," she asked.

"Sure. Go ahead," Will said.

Liz walks to the front of the room.

"I think we should sing a medley of Queen songs," she suggests.

Santana looks at her.

"Can you even sing?," she asks.

Liz stands up, walks to the front of the room and grabs an acoustic guitar.

"Wait, you play?," Sam asks.

"Yep," she nodded.

Liz starts playing 'Wanted' by: Hunter Hayes.  The song ends and everyone applauds.

"Wow, Liz.  You have an amazing voice!  How long have you been singing?," Will asked.

"Umm...  Since I learned how?," Liz suggested, shrugging her shoulders.

Everyone laughs.  The bell rings.

Karofsky comes up and slams Liz's locker shut.

"Can I help you?," Liz asks.

Karofsky walks away.  Kurt runs up to Liz.

"Are you okay?," he asks.

"Yeah...," Liz replied, voice shaky.

"If he picks on you, you let me know and I'll take care of it," Kurt said firmly.

Liz nodded.

"Thanks Kurt," she said.

Kurt nodded.

"No problem," he said.

They both headed back to class.
