(Newt's POV)

I was just finishing off my lightbulb monster when rain began bucketing down. Looking around the battlefield, I noticed nearly everyone had, or was in the process of, killing their monster. As I'd predicted, Chloe and her sister were some of the first to defeat their monster. Currently Chloe was helping a Glader (who I think was Dylan; but I wasn't sure, as I couldn't see clearly through the rain) finish off his monster, while Ivy was helping a girl from Group B. As I continued to look around the battlefield, more and more bolts of white continued to hit the ground. Oh no. Not more of this crazy lightning again. I thought sarcastically.

'Oi genius!! Get your butt over here!'

Turning around, I saw Chloe beckoning me over, and realized both Gladers and Group B girls were climbing into the Griever pods to shelter from both the lightning and the rain. I began running (or slipping and almost sprawling) over to her. As I ran, I saw her mouth open to shout something, but before she could, a bolt of lightning hit the floor in front of me. I was thrown backwards into the slushy ground. All of a sudden, Chloe was at my side.

'Hurry up! I can't believe you were a Runner back in the Glade! You must have been horrible!' she yelled as she grabbed my arm and hauled me to my feet.

'Hey! It never rained in the Glade, so I'm not used to wet ground!' I protested (although she probably didn't hear me, or she chose to ignore that).

We continued to scramble our way over to the pod her sister and Minho were holding open, occasionally slipping, but the other would help them regain their balance (actually we'd continue running until the other got their footing back). Once we reached the coffin-like thing, Chloe pulled open the lid a bit more.

'Get in!'

I did as she ordered, and tumbled into the horrible-smelling pod. The instant I was in, Chloe came tumbling in after me. Together, we all managed to close the lid of the pod. Rain pounded on the roof, but it was better than being out there in the rain.

'How do we know when, or if, they're even coming?' Minho yelled.

'Uh, we don't!' Chloe yelled back.

He lapsed into a string of profanities, but stopped (or at least quieted down) when I nudged him. The rain continued to drum on the roof; a constant noise that didn't cease. The constant drumming was suddenly broken by a loud roaring that gradually grew louder and louder. The four of us exchanged a glance before moving to push the lid of the pod up. Two things happened. The first thing was that the rain immediately began to pour into the bottom-half of the pod, so we all hurriedly exited the pod. The second thing was this massive, grey (at least I think it was grey), thing began to slowly descend down towards the pods.

'Bang on the top of the pods! Get everyone out!' Chloe yelled, already moving towards the nearest pod.

We quickly began banging on the pods, but some had already heard the noise and were already getting out. In a matter of minutes, everyone that had survived was in the open, waiting for the ship (or Berg as Jorge called it) to land. The moment it did, everyone began running towards it. When the first person (that just so happened to be Chloe) was a few meters away from the loading ramp, a dozen or so slightly smaller versions of the lightbulb monsters came ambling around the sides of the Berg to in front of the ramp.

'Just go through 'em!' Minho yelled.

That didn't happen. Well, only Chloe actually went through them. She had both her knives in her hands and slashed and hacked at the bulbs, while the rest began dropping as arrows began raining down on them (Ivy had stopped running to shoot BTW). By the time the main group of people had reached the ramp, Chloe and her sister only had about three more to take down. I'd just run over the metal ramp, when I realized none of the sisters were following; they were still battling the lightbulb monsters.

'Chloe! Ivy!' Minho and I yelled.

The two sisters glanced back at us as the ship began taking off. Ivy looked back at her sister as she began running towards the ramp, but Chloe stayed behind.

'Chloe!!' I yelled.

By now the ramp was a few feet off the ground. Seeming to make her decision, Chloe turned and sprinted towards the rising Berg. As she came nearer, (I honestly do not know how she did it though) she somehow managed to stick her knives either into her belt or boots. One of them. By now we were thinking she wasn't going to make it, but she made a leap for the ramp, and managed to grab onto the lip of it. Immediately, Ivy had caught hold of her sister's arm and was pulling her sister in. However, Ivy couldn't quite pull her sister over the edge, and Chloe began to (unintentionally) drag both of them over. Before anyone else could react, Brenda had darted forwards; caught hold of Chloe's other arm and began to help Ivy pull her in. With the other girl helping, the two of them were able to haul Chloe over the edge of the ramp. The second Chloe was in the Berg; Ivy threw her arms around her sister and hugged her. The click of a gun suddenly drew everyone's attention.

'Who are these people?' A red-haired man demanded as he pointed a black pistol at Jorge and Brenda, who were huddled next to each other. 'Answer me!' He demanded.

'Hey!'

The shout drew quite a few people's attention; including the red-haired man's. I looked up to see Chloe on her feet, with her slingshot in her hands and a deadly look in her eyes.

'I strongly advise you to not point a gun at my friends.' She said calmly, but her eyes betrayed her.

'So these are friends of yours, huh?' the man sneered.

I swear I saw Chloe's eyes flash hazel, but I wasn't sure. I did see her hand tighten on the slingshot though.

'I warned you.'

That was the only warning anyone had before the projectile smashed into the back of the man's hand; undoubtedly fracturing, or even breaking, some of the bones in the back of his hand. The red-haired man screamed and dropped the pistol as he clutched his right hand. However, before the gun could hit the floor, Ivy darted past her sister, somersaulted, and caught the pistol (hey, it's still a loaded gun). She instantly brought it up and levelled it with his head. Now the tables had turned. The man froze, but screamed as another two projectiles slammed into his right wrist and elbow; breaking both with a loud snap (please note I have never broken/fractured anything, nor seen it happen to anyone else, so I actually don't know if that's the correct sound. Just pretend it is). He screamed again and went down as three more projectiles hit him. One broke his left knee and the other two hit him on the right side; whether they broke or cracked his ribs, I have no idea. All this time, Ivy kept the gun level with his head.

'No, no. Please stop.' He whimpered.

Chloe bobbed down next to him, anger still in her eyes.

'One more word and I'll break your jaw.' She threatened. He zipped it. 'Now, I'm still not done yet. I warned you not to threaten my friends, but you didn't listen.'

She'd barely finished her sentence before she brought the butt-end of her slingshot down on his wrist at an angle. The bone snapped loudly and he screamed; the sound echoing off the metal walls of the Berg.

'Nobody threatens my friends and gets away with it.' Chloe said as she stood up.
