Maple Kisses- CanadaxReader

(*Reader's P.O.V*) 

    Me and Matthew have been dating for three months now, we have been on five dates, but something is bothering me. Every time I am with Mattie and we have a romantic moment and I lean in for a kiss, his face would go really red and he would turn away. It is like he doesn't want to kiss me, he has told me several times he loves me, but why won't he do it? I can never find answer for myself and I would just sit in sorrow and confusion. I am determined today that we will kiss no matter what! He is coming soon so I get my nicest shirt on and a pair of jeans. I jump on my couch. I start texting my friend until I hear the door bell ring. I get up and run to the mirror real quick, I look great and my breath does not smell okay all good. I walk up to my door and open it to see the cheery Canadian.

    "Hello (Nickname)~!" He says a little louder than his normal tone. I smile and give him a hug.

    "Hiya Mattie," We let go of the hug. "So I was thinking we should watch a movie, do you want to?" He smiles

    "I would love too, just because you want to," I give him a peck on his cheek, even by this his face goes completely goes red, I could feel the heat from here. He sits down on the couch and I get the popcorn in the microwave. I deiced that we watch a Disney movie, so maybe he would be a little more comfortable with the whole kissing thing. I get the popcorn in a bowl and I jump back onto the couch.

    "Hey (Name), can I maybe put some maple syrup on the popcorn?" Why would he want maple syrup on his popcorn? I know he loves it but that is a little bit strange. You know what if I say no he will think less of me, so maybe it would be best if I kept quiet.

    "Of course you can honey." I say, he does as he said. "Is it any good?" 

    "Well, I think it is great!" He takes a handful of popcorn and eats it. I take a few pieces of popcorn and look at it. The normal white pieces of corn is now bronze with a amazing smell. Well, you only live once, I put the popcorn in my mouth. Wow, this is really great.

    "Mattie, this is amazing!" I smile and start grabbing more and he smiles at me. After eating some more I start the movie and put my head on his shoulder as he puts his arm around me. 

    After watching the movie, both my legs are asleep, we shared laughs and we did cry, but only a little bit, we didn't feel like it was sad, but we used to do this all the time when we were younger. We still haven't left the position we had in the beginning of the movie. It is time I am going to do this. I look into his violet-blue eyes and I lean in. Before I could notice his face went really red and leaned back. Why would he do this?!? I give him hints all the time, we been together for a good amount of time, but why won't he just kiss me! It is really bothering me a lot. Before I knew it I felt tears cover my face. I look down and out my hands onto my face.

    "N-no (Name), don't cry." He comes closer to me and puts his arms around me.

    "I don't get it Mattie! Every time I try to kiss you, you never accept it! And it is not like we haven't been together for a short time and you always tell me you love me, I never understand why you won't just kiss me!" I put my head up when I do this and I used a lot of hand movements. He scoots over to me and stops for a moment. I look at him, I think he doesn't care about me anymore, more tears come out, but I suddenly feel a hand on my face. I look up to see Matthew looking at me, then he leans in and I feel his lips in between mine. I feel the butterflies in my stomach and I could taste the maple on his lips, this is probably the sweetest thing in the whole wide world! After a few seconds, we let go. Mine and his face are as red as a cherry.

   "I am sorry for making you wait so long (Name), but I wanted to make it as perfect as possible and I didn't know how I could. So when I knew you couldn't wait any longer, I decided just to do it....." I smiled and put my head on his shoulder, it was a bit sticky, but I could never ask for more.
