"Did you guys hear Ms. Cafferty is coming back today?", Caroline asked us. We were all sitting at the end of the hallway; me, Jared, Caroline, Ethan, and Tyler. We sit here and talk every morning before homeroom. Caroline and Ethan are twins and we've been in the same class since Kindergarten. Tyler was in the grade above us, but the school had him repeat the second grade.
"Ugh, I wish she wasn't.", Ethan said.
"Yeah, she's always in a bad mood.", Jared said.
"That's only because she was pregnant. Besides, she's never been mean to me."
"That's because you're a girl.", I said.
"What does that have to do with anything?"
"Well, out of all of us, she only likes you and in class, she clearly favored the rest of the girls." Jared, Ethan, and Tyler all nodded in agreement.
"Oh please, that's ridiculous."
"Well, it's true." Tyler said "Watch in class today."
Caroline rolled her eyes. "Whatever. Ethan, what time is it?" Ethan always wore his watch to school.
"7:38." The first bell rings at 7:40, so we decided to all go to our homerooms.

Lizzie and her clique kept whispering to each other. I was worried that it was about me falling in front of them this morning. The embarrassment was haunting me.
"Stop worrying about it, Tommy." Jared said.
"I can't."
"They might not even be talking about you. Maybe it's the Twitter fight. Lizzie hates Ali."
"I don't know", they all started laughing," but I don't think it's that."
"Well, be cool. She's coming over here."
"What?" Fuck.
"Hey Tommy.", Lizzie said as she sat down next to me.
"Uh, hi." Fuck.
"Um, I was wondering if you were planning on going to Alex's party Friday?"
I looked at Jared and then looked back at her. "I was thinking about it." Fuck. "Why?"
"Well, I was wondering if you'd like to go with me, you know, if you decide to go."
"Oh." I could feel myself blushing.
"Just let me know, okay?"
"Okay." She smiled and walked back over to her friends.
I could feel myself still blushing. "Fuck."
"What? At least she didn't mention anything from this morning."
"Yeah I guess."
"Plus, now if you go to the party, you know she'll actually talk to you."
"Unless I embarrass myself."
"Trust me, she won't care. She likes you, dude."
"Whatever you say, Jared."
