This is a game, right? I thought it was, I really did, but I guess it isn't anymore. Now, it's life. Honestly, it was too hard to sleep the next night. Wondering if you'll make it out.
It's honestly udder hell. Too much to bear but I know I have my friends to look out for me, I always will. And I promise, till the very end, I will fight to keep them safe.
The following month was probably just as bad as the starting day, still, the boss dungeon still hadn't been found, yet.
I sat in a chair and carefully watched my surroundings. I pressed my lips together and stared at a man gulping down his mug. I shifted my eyes to a man and a woman sitting at a table by the window and talking casually. The woman laughed lightly and the man scratched the back of his head.
"Hey! Aya-chan! Aya!" A hand waved in front my face. I blinked absentmindedly and turned to face Sora. He laughed lightly and cocked his head to the side. "Is everything alright with you?" He asked.
"Huh? Oh, yeah. I'm fine. Just a little tired." I answered, sitting back up.
"Oh...alright then."
"Y'know. I've been thinking we should just relax for like the whole day. No quests or anything. Lets at least try to forget that this isn't some place we can die in if we make even the smallest of mistakes. Seiko, Rea, let's go shopping!"
"Oo! That sounds like fun." Rea tilted her head to the side and smiled.
"I guess that does sound like fun." Seiko agreed.
"If that's the case..." I heard Sora mutter under his breath.
"Huh?"
"Then... AYA SAKATA WILL YOU GO ON A DATE WITH ME!?" Sora shot up from his chair as he yelled out his question. He looked at me intently as he waited for my answer. By the second it seemed like his face had gotten redder.
"Yeah." I replied as I gave him a smile. Sora looked at me as if he was about to break down.
"R-really?"
"Yes. I'll go on a date with you, Sora."
"Aww! You guys look so cute!" Seiko squealed.
"Would you look at the time I've gotta take this boy on his first steps on his path to manhood!" Yoshi said quickly as he pulled Sora by the arm and dragged him out the inn.
I watched them leave and turned back to Seiko and Rea who were staring at me. "Is there something I can help you with?" I asked slowly.
"How does it feel?" Rea asked softly.
"Feel? What do you mean?"
"He's had feelings for you for a long time now. I don't know...I just.."
"Di--did you...have feelings for Sora..?" I asked cautiously.
"Huh?!" Rea's head shot up like a deer in headlights. "Me?! No! I don't like Sora at all. I'm very happy for you both!"
"Are you sure about that?"
"Y-yeah. I'm sure. I would never get in his way." She gave me a smile and turned to Seiko who had a giddy smile plastered on her face.
"We should go shopping. Get you all dolled up and whatnot. Although, we wouldn't get much out of this if we're only in the Town of Beginnings. We might just have to work with what we already have."
"You're right." I answered.
The following hours moved by slowly yet so quickly at the same time. It felt so strange to be dating the friend I had know since before grade school. My heart pounded with excitement. But as I had the time to think about this, the only thing I was unsure of was did I have feelings for Sora? He was like a brother to me all this time, yet I never had the audacity to think of him in a different light. Did I love him? Did I only think of him as a brother?
