I stand up straight and tall behind the scenes of the graduation ceremony. Butterflies flutter around my stomach, beads of sweat trail down my face, my hands start shaking uncontrollably. The music stops everyone is seated I could see my parents out there with their glowing smiles. One of the school's teachers start the speech all I hear is blah blah blah. I recite my famous speech in my mind, I gulped as the audience claps and the teacher is off the stage. I count each breath I take as I walk slowly up the stage to the podium. A thousand or so eyes watching every move I make; I make a sound of the word I was about to say form my vocal cords but the whole world shifted. A huge earthquake shake that made me stop.

I look up to see a man with ebony colored wings, long sharp bull horns, and hairy goat legs. No one moved, nothing was moving except me and the beast. He had a black ominous aura around him that made the back of my hairs prick. His dark unworldly eyes sets its sights on me and only me. I don't know what's going on around me; I glance around for any hint or clue that it was a joke or part of the ceremony, I can tell it wasn't. The beast cracked and evil grin across his face that reminded me of the cheshire cat except with yellow pointy teeth.

 "Who are you?"

I foolishly asked him while gingerly walking down the stage, no eyes trail to me or him. There was a slight shift in his eyes while he responded.

 "Your worst nightmare your highness."

He lunges forward with his sharp claws aiming at me with such speed and agility. Until everything went white, I see nothing but white. I did not feel the pain of dying but I'm not sure if I'm dead. Maybe I passed out while he was attacking? I pry open my eyes to see I little 12 year old girl with snow white hair, luminous violet eyes, and black bat wings displayed behind her. She dips her head a little bit with respect.

"Good morning your highness," she almost whispers her voice was smooth, kind, and sweet like honey.

 "Where am I?"

I look around in confusion seeing that I am in a weird looking hospital bed. I try to sit up straight but there was a pain in my abdomen. I winced as she shushed me and laid me back down again.

"Your highness you must rest, or else your wound will reopen."

 "What injuries?"

She pointed down to my stomach, and a rush of pain and realization comes over me. Bandages were wrapped around my stomach. I glance around to also see a small surgery table that had bandages that had dried blood all over them.

 "Who are you?"

"Pardon me your highness for not introducing myself."

She gets up and does a perfectly graceful curtsy before she sat back down again.

"My name is Monica, Monica Sefty. I have been sent by your father king Wilbert the third, I have been assigned as your protector and servant your highness."

I look at her in disbelief,"I'm a PRINCESS?!

"Well yes your highness. A demon princess that is."

 I shake my head violently,"I couldn't be... I couldn't be a princess let alone a demon!"

 "I know it hard to."

I disrupt her,"No no no no you must have the wrong girl. I'm not a demon princess, I was raised by Dorie and Frank Armstrong, I'm their daughter!"

I say with my voice flailing. She shakes her head and tries to calm me down.

"Your highness they are not your parents, they are demons and they are dead."

"DEAD!"

"Well yes your highness."

Why, why did it have to be my, why does this have to happen to me and not someone else? Why is it always me!?

I seemed to have fallen asleep crying because when I have been awoken by my slumber my eyes were watery, my nose was stuffed, I had sore throat, and my face feels red. URGH! I calmed down by the delicious aromas that were haunting the hallways. I licked my dry and chapped lips while my stomach yells like a baby to be fed. Monica came with a sweet mouth watering cinnamon roll with it's icing dripping off of it and onto the plate and cream milk.

"Good morning your royal highness,"she bowed in place.

"Monica you don't have to bow I'm not really someone important."

 "But of course you are."

She laid down the breakfast tray on my lap, she took a forkful of the cinnamon roll and aimed it at my mouth.

"Monica you don't have to baby feed me I'll be fine."

I took the fork from Monica and started ravishing my food. Monica with her small delicate hands touched my wavy very light hazel hair gently, as if she was holding something breakable.

 "Soft,"she whispered.

I kept ignoring her touches and pokes as I demolished my food. Monica abruptly stood up once I was finished but her attention was vexed somewhere else. Her black bat wings popped out from hiding behind her back. Black horns sprout from her head curling toward her face. Her violet eyes turned to a shade of dark blood.

"They have found us your highness,"she hissed underneath her breath.

I could hear the pounding of footsteps outside from the room. My heart speeds up every moment they take another step forward. I could feel he warm and cold air mixing to make this poisonous temperature in the room. Monica cradles me in her arms and jumps out the hospital window. I could feel the cold glass scraping part of my skin. Then I feel the wind speed pick up while I face the ground. We were falling!
