"Alexis! Put that game away!"
I quickly tucked my DS into my pocket. Looking up, I met my teacher's stern gaze.
"If I see that game out one more time, I'm taking it up until the end of the day. Do I make myself clear?"
I nervously looked down at my paper. "Yes, Mr. Jones."
I could hear the quiet laughs of my classmates. I sighed to myself and stared blankly at my teacher as he spoke and wrote on the chalkboard.
School is so dull. I hate it. I watched the clock, waiting for this stupid class to be over. As soon as the bell rang, I sprung out of my seat and left the classroom.
Heading to lunch, I sat by myself, like usual. I even got in a little game time while I ate. I was currently playing my favorite game, Monster Hunter. I then saw someone approaching me.
I sighed in annoyance, looking up from my game to meet the blonde girl's gaze. She grinned as she stood over me.
"Well if it isn't the gamer geek. That move you pulled in class was quite funny, I was so hoping your game would get taken up."
I glared up at her. "What do you want, Brittany?"
"Oh, nothing. Just came to mess with my favorite geek."
She suddenly snatched at my DS, but I quickly pulled it away and put it back in my pocket. "Not this time, plastic face."
She sneered. "Oh, you know me so well, freak."
I stood up and smirked. "You got that right, drag queen bitch."
I lifted my tray and slammed it in her face. Before she could react, I ran, looking back to see food all over her.
I rushed to the restroom and stifled my laughs. That was so worth the effort. I think I'll cut my next class and just hang here for a bit.
I pulled out my DS and began playing again. I wish I could be in the Monster Hunter world, or any game world for that matter. Reality is just so lame.
I stayed in the restroom until school was over. I quickly got my things from my locker and headed home, playing my game the whole way.
As soon as I stepped inside my house, my dad came out of the kitchen and asked, "Hey, Alexis. Have a good day?"
I shrugged, not looking up from my game. "It was okay."
"Make any friends?"
I snorted at his stupid question. "No, why would I do that?"
He sighed. "Alexis, do you ever think there's more to life than video games? Everyone needs a friend."
I glanced at him blankly. "Yeeaah, whatever."
I began heading upstairs to my room. I set my stuff down and sat on the floor, looking through all my games.
Who needs friends? I sure don't. I have my games to keep me company. Real people are too boring and unpredictable.
I sat down, turned on my WiiU, and played some Smash Bros. After a short while, I heard my mom call me from downstairs.
"Alexis, dinner's ready!"
I finished my current battle and turned off the game. I went downstairs and quietly ate my food. As soon as I finished, I went back to my room and played some Monster Hunter.
After a short while, I was interrupted by my mom. "Alexis, if it's not too much trouble, could you go get some bread and milk from the store?"
I paused my game and glanced outside. "This late? It can't wait until tomorrow?"
"Well, it can, but it would be nice of you to go ahead and get it done."
I sighed. "Okay, I'll go get them."
She smiled and handed me some money. "Thanks, Alexis."
I turned off my game and put my DS in my pocket. I never leave home without it. I headed out and to the nearby grocery store.
I quickly bought the milk and bread before leaving. I quietly walked down the dark street back toward home. I stopped upon hearing something in a nearby alley.
I looked around before hesitantly going down the dark alley. "Nice to see you again, freak."
I turned around to see Brittany standing at the entrance of the alley. I smirked at her. "Hi, Brittany. I barely recognized you without food covering your face."
"Haha, very funny. You won't be laughing by the time we're done with you."
I looked around as more girls approached behind me and alongside Brittany. I recognized them all as Brittany's friends. This isn't looking so good.
I dropped the groceries and made a run for it. I tried running past Brittany and the other girls, but they grabbed me and threw me down.
Before I could get up, I was pinned down. My arms and legs were held by a couple of girls while the others began punching and kicking me.
I struggled to get free and fight back, but it was no use. I could feel blood pooling under me and bones being cracked.
After a while of relentless beating, the girls finally stopped. I watched them through my blurry vision as they began to leave.
I could hear Brittany say one last thing before leaving. "That'll teach you, gamer freak."
I simply lay there, unable to move as everything began to fade around me. Is this it? Am I going to die here?
I tried to move again, but my bloody, bruised body won't comply. I gritted my teeth slightly.
Brittany, you and your friends will pay for this. You'll see, I will get my revenge. I closed my eyes as my life faded away until everything went dark.
