The Hybrid Experiment 2.0

Detention Pt.1

We followed the woman through the hallway that seemed to be going on forever. The silence was unbearable and everyone was so tense.

I looked over to my right side to see Chase clenching his jaw in a bit of rage and his hands were balled up into fists. Toby was right beside him observing his surroundings with his 'looking for an escape' face. On my left Yui was hugging my arm tightly, shaking a little as we trailed behind the woman.

After what seemed like an eternity she finally stopped in front of a dark brown wooden door with a white metal plate at the top that read 'PRINCIPLE'S OFFICE' in big black letters. The woman put her pale fingers up to the doorknob and began to open it slowly revealing a dark room where the only light in there was coming from the few beams of sunlight flowing in from the closed blinds.

"Ok go in," she said motioning for us to enter the darkened room. We began to hesitate not knowing whether to run or fight or do anything to prevent us from going into that room.

The woman sighed and began to speak. "It's ok we're not going to hurt you. We just wanted to ask you a few questions," we were still freaking out but, as if I had no control of my legs, I began walking into the room. The others were trying to stop me but I was already in the room, far from their reach. I was standing in front of a large wooden desk with two chairs on each side of me and an office chair on the other side of the desk turned so I couldn't see the person sitting in it.

"Tsk, tsk. You four caused a great deal of damage in your short stay here," a stern woman's voice spoke which scared me making me jump a little. Everyone came rushing into the room to be by my side. "I-I'm r-really sorry ma'am. I um...didn't mean to," I stammered managing to get those few words I found lost in my throat.

"How about you tell me how all this happened, hmmm?" she questioned playfully. Thats when my blood ran cold and the color flushed from my face. How can I explain this to her? Does everyone know about magical creatures? Can she even be trusted? I didn't know anything about the outside world, I haven't been outside in ten years.

"Maybe I was jumping ahead of myself. Just tell me your names and your age," she said sweetening her voice. "Um ok. Im Midnight Star and I'm fifteen years old..." I said trying to sound tough, but failed. "And this is Chase Obermire whose 16, Toby Mitchell that's also 16, and Yui K. who is 15" I said pointing to them as I said their names even though she couldn't see us. "Oh how cute. Well since we are introducing ourselves, my name is Mrs. Skull, the principle and that scary looking woman over there is Ms. Lang my assistant," she informed making me calm down a bit.

"I know you all are not human and you are escapees from a certain....experimenting facility. Your ankle bracelets gave you away" and as soon as she said that she held one of our braclets out for us to see. "It's ok though. I won't bring you back there, in fact I want to give you an offer," she then swerved around to face us but we couldn't see much of her since it was so dark in there.

"I want you all to enroll in my school right here right now!" she said rather enthusiastically. This for obvious reasons confused and frightened us. "Erm...we uh appreciate the offer but I think we'll pass," Toby said still looking for a way to escape. We saw her shift in her seat and cross her arms as she began to speak.

"Aww, really? But it's a really good school. We teach all kinds of different breeds how to use and control their powers. You even get a dorm on campus so you have somwhere to stay." she was saying, no almost begging us to say yes. I had to admit this didn't seem to bad of an offer.

We were all silent for a moment thinking about what to say next. Finally with a sigh chase said " Fine, we still don't trust you completely but if you could help us control our powers and keep us from those experimenting people then I guess we'll stay". This both shocked and enraged Yui and Toby but they knew they couldn't argue with him. I on the other hand was excited. My only school expirience was two months in kindergarden.

"Ooh I'm so happy. Alright now that we have you enrolled we can get back to the explosion. I need one of you to stay after school and clean up the mess while the other three helps me get things prepared for your first day tomorrow" it was at that moment that my friends took this as an opportunity and said in unison, "Midnight can do it".

I was about to protest but Ms. Lang took my arm and lead me outside. "Don't worry dear you won't be alone. You have two students to accompany you" she said still pulling my arm.

(Time skip: Night)

I had to wait for hours before clean up because of one guy who was going to help, only comes at night. I was sitting in one of the isolated classrooms with Ms. Lang and that one boy Takeshi.

We both sat in the back row but had four desk in between us and didn't say a word. On occasions I would notice him staring at me and when I looked at him back he would only smirk and turn his head toward the window.

"This is sooo boring. I shouldn't even be here" Takeshi finally spoke. "I don't care get over it, don't be a baby" Ms. Lang said annoyed. "Oh yeah? Maybe you should think about that the next time one of your 'lovers' leaves you for a younger hotter babe, how many have you lost about 20 in the last month?" he said sarcastically.

They were just about to get into an battle when a boy with dark blue hair and...hey are those fangs? "Hey, sorry I'm late I overslept," the guy said in a smooth masculine tone...
