I  had never been that appealing to guys, because I was smarter than most and didn't have the best facial features. Everyone told me I wasn't ugly, but I had never been called beautiful by a guy and that haunted me at night. I had always liked one guy but never had the guts to ask him out or even carry on a conversation with him, let alone go on a date with him. Back to the present, I walk in to the school and go into my dad's office as usual. My dad was the football and baseball coach at South Bay High School. Maybe that was another reason guys never asked me out, because they were afraid of my dad. " Hey,"  I say to my dad. " Hi honey," he said. He gave me a kiss on the cheek and left for the field house. I walked to class. My classes were over very quickly, so I headed out to the football field to wait on my dad. I sat in the reserved seats in the stands watching practice. There he was the most beautiful, sexy, irresistible man I had ever seen, Jake Phillips.

There she was in the stands watching practice as usual. She was the hottest, sexiest, most beautiful woman I had ever seen, Sydney Cole. I never had the guts to ask her out, I mean for goodness sakes she's the coachs daughter. Besides I was taking Carsyn Reynolds to homecoming. Practice was fairly ordinary, I went into the locker room to get dressed. " Hey Jake," said my best friend, Cale.
"Hey," I said. "Phillips," said Coach Cole from his office. I walk to the office and sits in the chair. "Yes coach," I said with a puzzled look. " I want you to start at quarterback Friday," coach Cole said. Jake was baffled he couldn't speak. " I need you to step up and be the real captain of this team, Do you understand?," he continued. " Yes, I won't let you down coach," I stammered out. " Ok you can leave now and one more thing, no girls, not even your girlfriend, I want you only focused on school and football right now, understand?," coach said. "Yes sir," I said. Well there goes my homecoming date and girlfriend. I got my stuff and walked out to my  car which oddly enough had a note on it. It said, " Jake", I opened and it read," I can't hide this anymore, I have been cheating on you with Conner Salt and I am breaking up with you, Bye, Carsyn Reynolds."
I was furious beyond words. How could she do this to me , I needed to blow off steam. I sprinted for the weight room. Blind with rage I ran into someone, I looked up to see who it was. Oh My Gosh it was Sydney Cole.

I was walking to my car since my dad was working late and as I'm walking to my car someone ran into me. I got up to tell them off but, then I looked up and it was Jake Phillips. "I'm sorry", I said nervously. " It's ok, it was my fault anyway", he said. " Are you ok?", I asked. He paused, debating on whether to tell me. " My girlfriend broke up with me and I found out she's been cheating on me", he said angrily.
" Oh my gosh, I'm sorry", I said comfortingly. He stared at me  for a minute and then said," Will you go to homecoming with me?", he asked nervously. " What?", I said. "I'm not asking you so I can get back at Carsyn, I genuinely want to go with you, so?", he said. " Yes", I said freaking out inside.
