Sydney's P.O.V.
I was absolutely amazed. How could someone as sexy, hot, and popular as Jake Phillips ask me to homecoming? We both said our goodbyes and he headed for the weight room, I left for my car. I drove home completely astonished. I had never been approved by any other guy at their school, mainly because you either have to be a cheerleader or a total slut to get a guy. When I got home I ran straight up to her. I had to call my best friend Kaitlynn Reaves, to tell her what just happened. The phone was ringing . She finally answered, "Hello." You'll never guess what happened," I said. "What your dad got another sweatshirt for you," she said laughing. "No, Jake Phillips just asked me to homecoming," I screamed softly. "Oh my gosh," she said," How did that happen?" " Well I was walking to my car and he was going back to the weight room and apparently his girlfriend has been cheating on him and he asked me, but he said I wasn't a rebound, which is good hopefully." " That's great and I hope you're not just a rebound ." " I don't think I am." My mom called up from the kitchen saying dinner was ready. I told Kaitlynn bye and threw my phone on the bed. I went downstairs and sat at the table and my mom prayed before we ate and after the got their food, my mom started a conversation. " Sydney are you going to homecoming this year, because it's senior year and I want you see you have some fun," she said. " Actually Jake Phillips asked me to go," I said with a smile. "That's great," my mom said warmly. My dad shoved his food in is mouth with groan. "What's wrong now," my mom said. "Jake Phillips is not supposed to get involved with you or any other girl at this moment and time, that's all." "Dad that's not fair," I yelled. "Well life isn't fair," he said. "Don't you think you're being a little unfair, homecoming isn't for another two weeks," her mother said. "I suppose I am being unfair, but I don't want you seeing him outside of school beforehand, understood?,"he said. " Yes sir," I said. But that was going to be difficult, for me at least.
