Kevin's POV

I watched as my Natalie walked to the door. I saw as she quietly and quickly assessed the situation correctly. Almost none of the previous Lost Flame noticed the force field but Natalie did. I could see the her lips part ever so slightly in the awareness of the supernatural. With my ability to see through matter, I saw her walk in the foyer. I didn't expect her to notice the emblem so soon. Only Vanessa, a Lost Flame of many centuries ago, had noticed the emblem immediately. I didn't know if that was a good sign or a bad sign but I just hoped it was good. I had to go meet her immediately because recognition of the emblem usually ignites an awakening of sorts in the Flame and what happens next is usually an eyesore. Luckily for me, hers was mild and she just passed out. I was by her side before she hit the floor and I carried her into the office to rest.

"Where am I? What happened?" Natalie whispered.

I could barely hear her, it would have sounded like a moan to human ears or most would hear nothing at all. I was at her side before she could sit up. Her hair was completely red, a beautiful, shiny deep red and it was just so perfect. Her eyes, I could get lost in them- they were reddish with specks of gold, brown and green. She just looked so amazing. I'd never had a Flame complete the physical changes so quickly. Hmmmmmmm....maybe the earth was getting just as desperate as we were.

"What happened?" Natalie demanded.

"I know you're in shock but you're perfectly fine. It was a completely normal reaction and..." I quickly tried to explain

"Completely normal? COMPLETELY NORMAL? I just burnt the tapestry with my hands. My palms were on fire! My head hurts like I'm having the worst hangover ever. And I know that girl, I know it's impossible but I do know her. Don't know how but I do. And who in blazes are you? What the hell is going on? Why is it so freaking hot? I'm getting pissed and you don't want me pissed. I'll burn you down!" She said vehemently.

I was just quiet, she was quickly adapting to her powers. I almost laughed - she wanted to burn me down - it was so cute.

"Why are you staring like I'm stupid?  I need some answers, damn you!". She shrieked at me.

"I'm just impressed. I'm going to ask you to just listen and to please please please have an open mind. I can help you through this. Just let me talk, Ok?" I asked.

My girl gave me a stare down, then she relaxed on the couch and folded her hands. I took that as an Ok sign.

"I'll go straight to the point. Every dimensions has Lost Ones that ensures balance in their part of the universe. The earth has four Lost Ones. They are called Lost Ones because the very first set sacrificed their souls to be the Lost Ones, best friends that volunteered themselves to keep the earth safe. They are not exactly humans but they are not any other creature you can think of. Thus, they are called Lost Ones because they never exactly leave the earth when they die. They are, well, lost. Their partners then couldn't bear to leave them and so, volunteered to be the Keepers. They are gifted with different powers and they remember what has happened in previous lives of both themselves and the Lost One they keep. So, there's the Lost Flame, the Lost Rain, the Lost Wind and the Lost Sand. You happen to be the Lost Flame. You have the ability to manipulate anything related to heat and fire. You have other hidden abilities but only Vanessa, a previous incarnation of your centuries ago, was able to master lightening. Not even myself would know of your other abilities not until you manifest it. Earth was in peace for almost two hundred years so there was no need for you and the others but that has changed. There is an inter-dimensional war brewing and earth needs the Lost Ones to keep earth safe from it. It's desperately urgent or you wouldn't have started manifesting already. It's entirely up to you though, if you reject or accept who you are." I narrated

Natalie was eerily quiet. She was too calm and I couldn't read her mind. I can't read her mind or any of the Lost Ones at that.

"I need to know what you're thinking. I won't know till we communicate.". I said.

"O I'm sorry, I was just told I'm some kind of fire freak and earth is a dimension, not a planet and I'm supposed to give up my life to be lost and there are three others like me and there is a war coming. It's not like it's mind blowing or totally disorienting, no, please forgive me for trying to take it in." She snapped.

"If I accept, what happens to my boyfriend and my parents? They are the ones I really care about." She said quite nervously.

"If you accept, you simply vanish from the human life. They won't remember you. You're parents would never have had a daughter and Danny would be with someone else." I said.

"What?! my parents would forget me?! Danny too? No, no, no, I can't forfeit my family, I can't. It's too much to ask for." She stated

"Natalie, I beg you. I understand your feelings about your parents but Danny? He's not the one you love."

"So, who is?  Danny is the only one that has survived being with me. Very few people can deal with my temper. Mr. Know it all, who is the one I love since you apparently know me more than I do?"

"I'm your soul mate, Natalie. No one would ever fit you perfectly except me. I'm literally your missing part, like the Ying to your Yang." I said matter of factly

Natalie just stared at me like I grew a second head. Hmmmm...I wonder how she'll react when she sees her eyes and her hair.
