Chapter Two

"3rd Time Mrs. Woods!" Mr. Vargas basically shrieks at me as he slid over my pass. "That means detention, after school, 4 hours in library. Be there, yes?!"

"You got it, cant wait" I sarcastically say as I walk out of the office, and over to history.

Now, I'm not gonna say that I'm always tough, and strong, and immune to sadness. I'm a girl, its in my DNA. But, I think I am pretty advanced in being a tough person. Rebels aren't always the mega-trons you perceive them as.We don't always care what people say about us,but we want the majority of the crap to be positive.Sometimes we really care, but most of the time, we just wing it.So I strutted into class, without a care, handed over my pass and took my seat, at the back of the class.

"About time you finally join us, Woods." Mrs Wallace spits out as I take my seat.

"Yeah, likewise" I spit back, followed by many giggles and a strong glare from her.

"You know what.? I would love to just smack a big fat detention slip in your face right now, but I think Mr. Vargas has already taken care of that. So, I'll deal with this matter after school."

"Kay, Kay!" I return, with an annoying smirk.

She goes back to rambling on about the American Revolution, for the next 45 minutes. I attempt to listen, but fail after 10 minutes, and just begin to text various people, who actually reply. But in the corner of my eye, I notice this guy. He has hazel eyes, brown, and piercing dimples. He's also on his phone, which says a lot about this class. I've seen him around school a couple times, and he's been here a while now. A name would really help out right now.

"Excuse me, Jace." Mrs Wallace says suddenly. He then looks up and shoves his phone into his Diamond Co. sweatshirt."If whatever the hell your looking at on your phone doesn't have anything to do with the American Revolution, then I will add another day to your detention week. Do i make myself clear?!"

"Crystal." He says, looks at me, then looks down and blushes. Like red, tomato red.

My brain farts, and I forget everything I ever thought about. Everything begins to focus on him. Every little feature is screenshotted and stuck in my brain. I guess this is just the beginning of a crush.

Wait, what. No, not a crush. I just like his face, and voice, and his outfit choices, and just about everything.

But its not a crush. Trust me.

The bell rings. Praise Jesus. The classroom is filled with shuffles and goodbyes to the wicked teacher herself.

"Saved by the bell" I vaguely say.

"You could say that again, Woods" He utters out then disappears into the halls.

I stopped in my tracks. My heart began to flutter, and now I was the one blushing red. I wasn't certain, but Jace was kind of growing on me.

After class, I did what any normal teenage girl would do when they have a person of friendship in mind. They go and rant on and on to their best friend. In this case, that poor soul is Jesse. She's my wing-woman, and just gets me on that personal level.

Somehow, someway our lockers were only 2 apart. It was meant to be.

"... and I literally almost fell and dropped my phone. And all he freaking did was laugh and go 'Shoot bruh, you good' like who does that!?" Jesse ranted.

Throughout the entire conversation, I just looked at him. And something inside just made me feel happy and stuff. I don't even know the dude. But he seems so chill and down to earth about almost anything. Even though this is all based on appearance and one sentence.

"Helloo!? Earth to Destiny. Did you hear anything I just said?"

"What, I mean. Pssh yeah. You and this one guy, and you like fell and something about your phone. Really sucks man, I feel for you." I said between glances as he walked over to his friends.

"You're the worst lier that ever walked this earth. Who's the guy."

She knows me so well.

I smiled like an idiot, and grabbed my science textbooks just as the bell was ringing.

"Ooh, you got lucky Destiny. But just this time." Jesse said.

"I'll text you everything you needa know in class. Okay?"

"Yeah, Yeah whatever. Bye loser." She spat at me, as I walked off.

"Peace out, loser." I spat back. Best friend goals.

For the first time in several months, I was actually happy to be going to science class.

Today was gonna be a good freaking day.
