Maasaki's p.o.v (Age 5, Pic above)
It was just like any day in Kirigakure. The village was fogged up with the usual mist, hence how it got its name. Although, I wasn't very fond of it... it always blocked out the sun, making it cold almost everyday here.
I was helping my mother prepare some food for my father who would be returning from a mission soon. I was really excited! I hardly ever got to see my father because of the Mizukage.. she always sent father out only because he was one of her best shinobi's. My mother was a great kunoichi as well, but she wasn't the Mizukage's first pick due to being a housewife who had probably lost her touch.
"Maasaki, can you get a bowl sweetheart?" mother asked.
"Okay!"
I quickly grabbed a chair over to the counter and climbed onto the chair in order to reach the cabinet. Once I had gotten a bowl, I carefully made my way down and ran towards my mother and tugged on her long peachy pink dress. She looked down at me and smiled, ruffling my hair a bit.
"Thank you Maasaki."
"You're welcome okaa-san!" I said happily.
"Maasaki, you can go on out and play while I finish up okay?"
My eyes faltered when my mother told me that... I don't like going outside. The other children despises me because my father is somewhat better than their's so they don't associate themselves with me. Mother and Father knew about that as well, so I'm not sure why she would ever mention that. Mother seemed to notice my change of mood and crouched down to my height. I looked at her with my big blue eyes as she looked at me with that tender smile of hers. I always loved my mother's smile.. it made me feel somewhat better.
"Don't worry about the other kids Maasaki." she said. "Just go out and have fun, yeah?"
"But what if they hurt me?" I said sadly. "They aren't very nice you know.."
"Hn, if they lay a hand on you, you come running home and tell me! I'll make sure that whenever they see you, they'll run away with fear!" she said as she showed her toned muscles.
I smiled brightly at my mother and hugged her tight. I heard my mother chuckle at me as she embraced me.
"I can promise you that no one will ever lay a hand on you Maasaki.. not as long as me and your father are around." she mumbled.
"I love you okaa-san!" I said as I nuzzled into the crook of her neck.
"I love you too, little one." she said before putting me at arm's length. "Now, go out and play okay?"
I hummed in response and went to put on my sandals and slid open the front door. I looked around the streets of the village and just like always, there was nothing new. Everything just always seemed to kill my mood whenever I come to play outside. I'd rather stay inside and help my mother around the house than being out here... but if mother wants me to go out and play, I won't argue with her.
I walked down the same route I'd always take to go to a place I claimed as my little hideout. It was close to the village, but it was still kind of far. It was a murky lake with high vegetation around it, giving that earthy feel to it. I grabbed a stick that was near the lake and poked the water with it. There were fishes that lived in it, but I could hardly ever see them since the lake wasn't clear enough. However, there was a specific fish that would always come by whenever I came to visit. I named him after my father, Junichi. He was a medium sized fish who had a base color of light blue, but had a dark blue color that made its way around it.
The reason why I named it after my father was because he always came back after a hard's day at work! Well, in this case.. a hard's day of swimming! It wouldn't matter at what time of day I would come to visit, he was always there. I smiled at the fish and waved at it. The fish poked its head out briefly as if he too was trying to greet me. I giggled at his little gesture and poked my little finger in the water, petting the fish. Junichi didn't do anything, but stayed in place as I did so. I retrieved my finger away from the water and just sat there looking at the fish.
