Chasing Katherine

Doctors appoitment

"Katherine hurry up you're gonna be late for your doctors appointment!" My mom exclaimed her voice ringing throughout the house.

"I'm coming mom, relax" I grabbed my purse and phone to meet my mother at the door. I hate going to the gynecologist but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. I always bring my mother with me because I don't like going alone.

"How are you and Jeremy?" My mom asked me with a smirk on her face. "We're doing just fine" I said in a sarcastic tone. "Do you think he's going to purpose soon?" My mom asked with a small giggle. "I don't know mom why are you so nosy?" I said returning the smile. "It's my job I'm your mother."

My mom and I continued talking until we got to the doctors. I already had a sick feeling in my stomach. We both walked through the doors and a huge wave of latex and metal came swarming my way. I signed in and sat down beside my mom. "Kat there's nothing to be worried about" my mom said with a chuckle. "I don't know why you get so nervous about these things." "Mom it's just uncomfortable and awkward" "Katherine you're 23 these things are natural and you should know that by now." "Mom please I really don't want to talk about this." Before my mom could protest I heard the doctor call my name.

"Katherine Lee" I stood up "Over here" I said with a smile. "Hello you can just follow me back here." I nodded and she lead me to a room in the back. "You can go ahead and get undressed we'll have a doctor here in one second." She left the room and I got myself situated into the chair.

After what felt like forever a doctor came stumbling through the door and it looked like tears brimmed her eyes. "Hello you're the girl who's getting a ummm insemi...insemination" she mumbled. I couldn't tell exactly what she was saying but I didn't really care I just wanted to get this over with. I could smell her breath all the way from the chair and it reeked of alcohol. I was going to tell her I'd come back another time but before I could say anything she started the process. I jumped up from the sudden surprise. It pissed me off that she didn't give me a chance to prepare myself.

"Alright all done you can go check out in the front." I got myself dressed and walked to the front of the building. I had to report the doctors behavior it was rude and dangerous. She shouldn't be operating on patients if she's intoxicated. "Umm hello mam I'd like to checkout but first I have a complaint." The lady smiled at me "What seems to be the problem?" She asked in a sweet tone. "Well my doctor appears to be drunk and I think it's very dangerous for her to be working at the moment." Her eyes got really wide and her smile turned into a frown. "Oh I'm so sorry honey I'll go get her right now. All you have to do is sign this and call us to make your next appointment." I smiled trying to block out the fear in my eyes. "Thank you and I will"

I walked out to my mom and told her about the appointment. She looked frustrated and upset. "Come on Katherine we're not coming back here again we'll find a new doctor." We both walked to the car and drove home in silence.
