The next day we are all back at the beach. Anna, Emily and I are all working on our tans whilst the guys are all out swimming in the ocean. Emily has loosened up around us quite a lot, and is actually quite talkative once you get to know her.
"So, what's going on with you and Simon?" Anna asks.
Emily blushes. "Well, he kind of asked me out." We squeal.
"That's great Em." I say when I am interrupted by a shadow that blocks the sun. "What are you doing here?" I ask Jess and her minions as they spread out there towels near us.
"Matty invited us." She gives me a look that says "duh?" Great. I cannot get rid of her. And just when I thought this day was gonna be relaxing.
"You and Matt are such a cute couple." Rhianna says in a really irritating whiny voice.
"Yeah, adorbs." Tiffany adds.
"Aw thanks guys." Jess says grinning at the compliment.
"Ugh, they are so annoying." Anna whispers to me.
"I know right?" I respond frustrated. Why are they even here?
"What do you think of my new purse?" Jess asks the girls.
"Oh it is gorgeous!" Rhianna responds but Tiffany doesn't say anything.
"Fucking hell. Really?" I mumble. How superficial can a girl get?
"What did you say?" Jess looks at me.
"I said fucking hell. Are you really that shallow that you have to fish for compliments from your followers in order to feel good about yourself?"
"Why are you even here? You are clearly a nobody who is desperate for anyone's attention. You go following Matt and Tyler around like some stalker. Kyle and Chase too. You are the one who is an attention whore." Jess remarks.
"I am not an attention whore. I don't follow them around. They are my friends. You wouldn't know what that means because you either have followers or use guys for a quick fuck. You clearly don't actually care about anyone but yourself." I stand up, now yelling at her.
Jess stands up. "You just think you are so much better than everyone else. That sweet act won't last long and soon your so called friends are going to realise that you aren't all that great." she says.
That is it. I have had enough of this. I stand up and storm off down the beach where the guys are getting out the water.
"Why the hell did you invite her Matt?" I yell at him.
"Well I am sorry that I asked my girlfriend to come and join us?" he says sarcastically.
"Girlfriend? When did she become your girlfriend?"
"Look. If we are going to be friends then you two need to learn to get along."
"Going to be friends? I thought we were already friends. I considered you one of my best friends, but I guess that was one sided, huh?" I storm off before he has a chance to reply.
The truth is there is a small part of me that is worried that there was some truth to what Jess said. Maybe I considered them my friends but they didn't like me. That they hung out with me out of pity or something.
"Where are you going?" Anna calls out as I walk passed her.
"I dunno. Can you take my stuff when you leave? I will come for it later. I just need to leave." I yell as I walk up the path towards school. Ugh. I am just so mad at him. How can he not see what a bitch she is? I get near the quad when I hear someone yelling my name. I turn around to see Chase walking towards me. He just seems to keep popping up out of nowhere.
"What?" I yell angrily. I am really not in the mood to deal with his shit today.
"Hey!" he puts his hands up in surrender. "I just came over to see if you are alright. You seem kind of pissed off."
I laugh sarcastically. "Sure."
"You do realise that you are just in a bikini in the middle of school, right?" I look down at my tiny white and blue striped bikini. I completely forgot when I stormed off. "I mean, I appreciate the view, but I don't think it's the best idea to be parading through school like that."
"Yeah, I kind of forgot." Now I feel kind of awkward standing in front of Chase in such little clothing.
"Here." He pulled of his shirt, which he was wearing a white unbuttoned shirt showing off his six pack, and gives to me. "I know it's not much, but better than nothing."
"Thanks." I put it on a leaving it mostly unbuttoned to show that I was in fact wearing a bikini underneath and not doing the walk of shame or something.
"So where are you headed?"
"I honestly have no idea." I just need to clear my head a bit.
"Wanna go to the roof? I heard that Ty took you up there."
"Sure, sounds good." Who knew that Chase can actually be nice?
We walk over to the roof in silence. When we get there, I see that it is just as beautiful as I remember. I walk towards the greenhouse and sit on the bench.
"So you wanted to tell me something last night?" I ask curiously as he sits next to me.
"Oh, uh... yeah. Sorry about that by the way. I had a bit too much to drink last night." I now notice that he has dark circles under his eyes that is peeking out underneath his sunglasses. He must be paying for it today.
"Well?" I look at him expectantly.
He sighs. "Okay. So ever since we met something has been bugging me." He pauses as I look at him confused.
"What do you mean?"
"I just felt like I knew you from somewhere. And I couldn't quite put my finger on it. It was bugging me for months." I quickly stand. Shit. He can't know, can he?
"What are you saying?" I ask warily. He stands to move closer to me.
"Hope, we have met before."
