Sophia blinked. Her ceiling was white. There was a crack in it. She rolled over. Slowly her thoughts came into focus and she sat up. Lifting her legs out from under her blanket she stretched her arms. Carefully Sophia moved one foot in front of the other in the direction of the bathroom. She splashed her face with cold water and wiped the liquid off of her eyelashes with a cloth.
Sophia walked into the kitchen still rubbing her eyes and yawing, she had had a terrible sleep; she woke up at one in the morning (1:03 to be precise) because she had had a nightmare about James turning into a huge spider and chasing her. Eventually she had managed to get back to sleep but only after she'd read her book. She had a vague memory of a more recent dream in which she was married to Draco Malfoy and had beautiful kids with him, she then turned into a giant butterfly and ate him. Sophia was at this point mildly worried about her subconscious mind as it seemed to contain a lot or metamorphosing into large insects.
She put some bread in the toaster and poured herself some chocolate milk from the fridge, drowsily she walked into the lounge and suffered a enormous shock when she caught sight of her snoring friend. It took her tired mind a few second to piece together who it was and what they were doing there. Dionne was lying on the sofa with her limbs splayed out like a broken doll. Sophia looked at her friend then the empty recliner, again at her friend, again at the arm chair. She sat on Dionne.
Dionne groaned and attempted to sit up, sadly for her there was a rather large item immobilizing her from her stomach. Sophia smirked and said, "Good morning, Dionne! What a lovely day, don't you think so?"
"It would be if there wasn't a big fat lump of a girl sitting on me." Dionne complained.
"Now, now Dionne, don't you know; the glass is always half full." Sophia chirped merrily.
"Hmph." Was Dionne's prudent reply.
The toast popped and Sophia jumped up, "Ooh breakfast!"
"Thanks for offering me some." Dionne's irritated voice followed her through the doorway. Sophia laughed and grabbed her toast, she shouted to Dionne, "Sorry, but I don't have any cucumber so obviously you can't have you usual." She reached up and grabbed the honey from the shelf before poking her hand in a drawer and picking up a knife. She spread the honey onto the toast. Dionne stumbled into the room grabbed the chocolate milk and poured it onto her face. "Dionne," Said Sophia, "You missed your mouth."
"I figured that out myself, but thanks Sophia." Dionne's face was brown and her white top now had a chocolaty patch. "Dionne dearest, what's the time?" She had a meeting with Ella at 2 and a class at 12. She also suddenly realized that Naomi could appear at any time, just as she thought as if on cue a knock was heard at the door, then a voice shouted through "Sophia! I'm coming in." She heard a key moving in the lock and she barely had enough time to wonder how her friend had a key before the whirlwind of Naomi entered and apparently so did a rainbow! Oh wait, thought Sophia she's wearing a disco ball.
What she originally thought was a disco ball was a designer piece of craftsmanship made specifically to reflect the light in this world and actually was more form fitted than a disco ball would be. Naomi explained this while sipping the strange drink she had brought with her (it was covered in mirrors as well) and watching Elmo on Sophia's tv, when Sophia asked why she was watching the children's show Naomi told Sophia that it was great wedding inspiration. She didn't inquire further.
"Hey Sophia," Dionne shouted from the kitchen, "Don't you have a class in like 10 minutes?"
At this Sophia jumped up in a frenzy and packed her bag faster than she had ever done in her life only to hear Naomi say, "Oh no Dionne, that's tomorrow, her class today is at 12. Sophia, it's 10:50 not 11:50"
