I've always thought keeping a journal would be interesting, but I'm way too lazy to actually write in one.
Since I'm on the computer all the time, I might as well spend some time keeping track of my life in one way or another. If you happen to know me and be reading this, I hope you find it somewhat entertaining to realize just how much of an uncomfortable human being I really am. Viewer discretion is advised.
I want to start by introducing myself; my name is Amber and as of right now I'm fourteen and a freshman. I like the arts and speaking, and having debates. I like writing and math (love algebra, hate geometry), though I'm not good at mental math. I like to think I'm smarter than I actually am, and can be a little (or a lot) obnoxious at times.
I love people. Talking to people, learning about people, anything that involves me being social. I'd like to imagine I'm fairly well liked, I hope so at least. I'm too cautious at times, and hope to learn to push myself out of my comfort zone. I like giving compliments as well as receiving them, anything theater related, and cute people.
I have three siblings, all of which are older than me by at least 10+ years. My beautiful mother is a 4'9 ball of pure Filipino rage, and my dad is a goofball who makes a lot of mistakes but has good intentions.
Today was my friend's birthday. We tried to celebrate for 20 minutes before class started, but I had a speech to print out.
Said speech has been the bane of my week so far. I did mine yesterday, and I think it went well. I'm a little nervous for how my teacher will react. My English teacher has good intentions, I can tell. But she's fresh out of college and is still trying to figure out her own teaching style and what she wants out of us and our class. I like to talk to her when she's not trying too hard to relate to us, because I really think she is a nice woman.
There's a boy in my English class I've never talked to before who did really well with his speech. He's quiet, but his speaking skills surprised me. Very clear and he made great points but he was pretty monotone and expressionless. He's an admittedly attractive guy, but kinda has a resting bitch face. I'd like to see him smile.
Today was also the first informational meeting for this year's musical. We're doing Nice Work If You Can Get It, which I'm VERY EXCITED FOR. It's set in the 1920's (favorite time period) and the songs are extremely catchy. I'm hoping to make cast, but I'll do crew if I don't.
I need to cut this off now if I ever hope to actually get my homework done. I'll update this soon, hopefully.
