So here is chapter two.
Recap:
"If we can trust you guys to behave and follow the rules, we wont call Aunt Kay to come stay with you guys," Dad said.
"No!," we all said in unison.
"You can trust us dad," I said. He looked at me and nodded his head with approval, before leaving the room.
So, the Hastings kids, are left alone for the next month, I thought. This could either go awesome, or horribly wrong.
Chapter two:
The first few days mom and dad were gone, I cant tell you how many people came and gone as they pleased. Kids that I dont even think went to our school were showing up. Of course, my brothers being the angels they were, threw a party the first night that they left. They dropped mom of at the airport Friday night, and went to pick up some food and any alcohol they could get their hands on. Kevin, was a senior and had a "rep to protect" , and Kyle was a junior, and could care less if they had alcohol. Emy had her boyfriend James Presten, captain of the baseball and basketball team over almost every night, it was like he had moved in. Surprisingly we all went to school, even though no one was there to nag us to go.
I stayed in my room most of the nights drawing, and talking to my friend Sarah on the phone. Sarah was like me, she was the forth child of six. I don't know how her mother does it all. Her mother is the sweetest person, and I think of her as a second mother.
It was about 10pm on Wednesday, when I went downstairs to get a drink of water before going to bed. No party surprisingly. As I went downstairs I heard my brothers whispering something. Then I heard another voice. That voice. I knew that voice. Luke Brandon, quarterback of the football team, most gorgeous being that goes to our school, and lets not forget a total player. But, I don't know why, but I like him so much.
"Dude, she keeps throwing herself at you," Kevin said. His voice slurred a bit, which meant that he had had a few.
"Kev, I am not sleeping with her! End of story." Luke sounded a little irritated.
As I took a step down to the next stair to hear better, it creaked. Damn. Now I blew it. I walked down and Kevin shot Luke a look saying something like, we aren't done here, then shot me a glare, before walking walking to the living room and throwing his body on the couch. Kyle looked at me, and smiled.
"Nice shorts," he said laughing. I remembered I was wearing my Elmo pajama shorts that were a little short, but it was my house, oh well.
"Oh shut up." Kyle was my favorite person, he was like my best friend. Kevin didn't like me at all, and he always reminded me. Kyle acted like a brother. He always came to my rescue. He kills the spiders in my room, stays up and talks if I need someone to talk to, and is always there.
Luke laughed at our banter. "Hey Emy." Kyle hit him in the back of the head. Kyle knew I liked Luke, a lot. I tried not to let Luke or Kyle see that him calling me Emy hurt me. But it was something that I should be used to. It happens, a lot. Luke just looked at Kyle confused.
"That's not Emy, it's Eli," Kyle said pointing at me.
"Oh," Luke said looking at me closer. "Strange, you guys are so alike." I just laughed, Kyle joined in as well.
"That's the point of twins Luke." I loved the way that his name sounded coming out of my mouth. I smiled at the thought that crossed my mine.
"I understand that Eli, but normally there is something that is a distinctly different about one another." He continued, "I really am sorry, I don't know how I could get you mixed up."
"Its fine, I'm used to it." Kyle sighed at my remark. He knew I didn't get seen much with Emy always in the spotlight.
Luke smiled at me and walked past me to the living room. As he was doing so, he winked. Wait, did he just wink?! Luke Brandon, winked at me, Eli Hastings? As I was filling up my glass I heard Kevin start that conversation again. Luke stood up and said he was going to the bathroom. I heard the bathroom door slam.
I watched Kevin play his video game for a few minutes, and Luke still had not returned.
I started walking up the stairs, still thinking about Luke winking and smiling at me. I bit my lower lip and continued my way to my room. I opened my door and walked in. I walked to my nightstand to turn on my lap. When I did I was in shock to see Luke standing by my pin up wall, or all my drawings. It made me jump a bit, and that got his attention.
"I'm sorry, I saw the one on your door, and got kind of curious," he looked back at the wall. "I didn't know you could draw."
"Yeah, and ten minutes ago you didn't even know my name." I laughed at my joke.
"Ouch, harsh Eli," him saying my name sounded, sinful, but so good.
We stood their for a moment, before we both tried to speak at once. We laughed and I insisted he goes first.
"Well, I should get back downstairs." He said with litte excitment in his voice.
"What don't want to continue that lovely conversation with Kevin?" I said with a smirk.
"Funny. Well, Goodnight Eli," he said while shutting the door on the way out.
"Goodnight Luke," I continued to say, even knowing that he couldn't hear me.
I fell asleep with a smile on my face, and slept wonderful.
