Chapter Two: Troubles

"Wake up (Y/N)! You'll be late for class!" Lilly screamed in my ear while hitting me with a pillow. Of course I got up, not wanting to make her angry. "I'm up! Stop screaming or I'll get a headache." I said, running my hand through my hair in attempt to comb it and pulled my tie and robe from my pocket and aimed my wand at them"Engorgio!" I reluctantly put on my tie and slid on my robe, grabbing my bag and rushing with Lily out the door. As we ran I pulled out my schedule, groaning a bit "Great, I have potions. You?" "Charms. Looks like you are on your own from here." She said, ducking down the hall to her class. I knew that she didn't want to be later than she already was so I didn't stop her, running into the dungeons and into the classroom, sitting down in the only open seat left and said "Sorry, Professor Slughorn. I had a late start this morning." He raised an eyebrow "Really? Quite odd, you're usually right on time. Are you feeling well?" I nodded "I'm fine, sir. I'm probably fighting off something; that's normally the case." Professor Slughorn nodded and Remus, who had taken the seat next to me, said quietly so only I could hear "Are you sure you are okay? Last night you went to bed early and you woke up late. Normally it's the exact opposite." I saw the dark circles forming under his eyes and I nodded "I'm fine. Truly positively fine." That was probably one of the biggest lies I've ever told. I was far from fine, I was going to turn into a raging monster again in just a few weeks. He nodded slowly and turned back to face Slughorn.

I collapsed on the couch in the common room, not even caring that I had landed on Remus' books. "(Y/N), could you move? I need my Charms homework." I simply pulled out the papers from beneath me and handed them to him, not even bothering to remove my face from the cushion. "Alright, that's it. I know something is wrong. What is it?" I shook my head, turning my head to look at him. He looked angry and sad at the same time, which made me feel guilty. "Remus, I had a really rough summer. I won't ever be the same again, alright? so stop asking me these stupid and dumb questions that I can't answer!" I yelled, and instantly regretted it. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean that, I'm just uptight and stressed out. McGonagal almost gave me detention today, everyone else just gave me extra homework, except Slughorn. Thank god he's nice and let me sleep in." I said with a sigh. " He grabbed my hand and I blushed a little. "You can talk to me about what happened. I won't tell anyone, I swear." I looked away, shaking my head. "I can't, you won't see me the same. You won't want t be my friend, so let me have this secret, please." I said, pulling my hand away and quickly ran up to the dorms. I jumped on my bed and didn't even bother doing my homework. Lily looked at me and asked "What's wrong?" I couldn't even answer her before falling asleep.

Remus' POV:

I just sat there, not sure how to react. What was she talking about? "Remus, are you alright?" James asked, snapping me out of my thoughts. "I'm not sure," I admitted "(Y/N) is acting strange. And on top of that she has a secret, one that she's afraid of telling us because she thinks we won't be her friends anymore." Sirius scoffed a little "She should know we're not like that. What could be so bad that she-" His eyes went wide and didn't finish his sentence, which made everyone a little nervous. "What happened to her this summer? What could've been so bad that she can't tell us?" We all took shaky breaths and I said "We should keep an eye on her, all the time. Shouldn't be hard though, she fell asleep on my homework. I had to ask Slughorn for several different books because she kept drooling on them." Sirius snickered and I threw a pillow at him "She's not well you daft fool!" I growled, and James smirked "What? Don't tell me you have a crush on (Y/N)." I felt my cheeks heat up "Shut up, James." I muttered. This was going to be a long night.
