Lachlan's P.O.V.
The kiss was not what I had expected. I actually enjoyed it. It wasn't like a long-movie scene kiss where everything just slows down. It was just a nice, warm kiss. I backed up, feeling a little hurt when she just sat there blankly. I awkwardly waited for her to say something, but nothing came out. I decided to break the silence once and for all....
''So, what now?'' I asked motioning myself off the bed.
No response.
''Sara? Please say something?" I quickly began to tremble, waiting for what was about to come next.
''I don't know.'' she said, not moving an inch still. I look back at her, confused and scared.
''I don't want this. Don't take it the wrong way, but I just want to stay friends.'' She finally confessed. It's not that I'm disappointed, it was just that I was scared that our friendship was ruined.
''Oh, thank god. I honestly didn't know what to do after that. I thought you were going to break off our friendship right then and there.'' A breath of relief escaped my lips as we both begin to settle back down.
''Let's just forget that ever happened, deal?'' A grin appears on her face, indicating that it was meant to be like this.
''Deal!'' I screamed, rushing out the bedroom door. A sudden crash lashed out as I caught myself tripping on the rug. I fell face first right into the hard wooden floor, laying there not able to feel anything for awhile. I suddenly hear footsteps rushing my way as I regain my consciousness.
''Oh my god are you ok? Lachlan, say something!'' She screamed out at me. I wait there for a couple moments, my eyes still closed and fixed.
''Oh, no. No no no no no! Lachlan! Wake up!'' She hollers as she begins to shake me.
''Top. Banter. 2k16.'' I say as I'm still situated on the floor, smirking wider than the empire state building.
''I hate you so much!'' she said sarcastically, getting up from her position and leaving me on the ground. This is going to be a lot of fun in New York.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~TIME-SKIP-EVRY-TIM~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I arrive at the airport feeling the cold breeze sweeping pass my neck. The moving crowd and the busy network of people trying to find their luggage is like watching every kid at a party reaching for that last piece of cake.
We waited to get ours because we would like it if we weren't trampled and lost in there. (sorry if it sounds like I haven't been in an airport a lot, it's because I haven't).
I've never been to New York before so I am quite frankly excited. Unfortunately, we couldn't get an Uber at this time of day, so we got a taxi instead.
Looking through the window, New York was not what I had been expecting. It's literally like what they had in the American movies. Busy streets filled with lights, to the brim with people. I see merchants (who the hell uses the word merchant now a days) lining with whatever they got to sell. You can just picture everything here.
I was lost in my thoughts, not knowing that we had already arrived from this 40 minute trip. I stepped out of the taxi, paid the driver, and wandered off with Sara to the apartment. Her room was on the 5th floor so it didn't take us that long to wait in the elevator. It was the first door to the left and it even had a small, cute whiteboard next to it. Sara took out her keys, trying all of them until finally getting it opened.
The entire room was pretty small, but cozy. (imagine life is strange room but cleaner). There was one twin bed and one couch. There was a sliding closet and a dresser right next to it. Light green wallpaper runs across the room, showing off 2 windows. One near the bed and one at the far wall. There was a ceiling fan that stands right in the center of the room. I jumped onto the couch signaling where I will sleep tonight.
''Hey, you all right? You haven't talked much since we came to NY.'' She begins, concern lacing in her voice.
''Yeah, I've just been thinking. A lot has been happening and I'm just trying to process this all at once.'' I answer trying my best to start the conversation.
''Do you want to talk about it?" She comes and sits directly next to me on the couch.
''Not really, but I'm guessing I won't really have a choice. Do I.'' I honestly said.
''No, you do not." She said in a joking manner, but still keeping her serious tone.
I sat there, just looking out at nothing. There would be moments where I would open my mouth, but out came no words. About 5 minutes of silence, Sara decided maybe it would be best if we had some sleep. After all, we want to try to fix our sleep schedule the best we could.
I lay down on the coach and take out my phone. I clicked on the photos. All the pictures of me and Vik filled the screen. I sat there, dragging my finger down and spotting every little cute moment we had. I stayed awake for 2 hours, looking through every photo. Every photo that showed a memory.
All of them had the same reaction. That little smile, or that little giggle. All of them, made me content as a person. Until I reached the last photo. It was when me and Vik at the ski trip. When we confessed to each other. I stared at that photo. I stared at it until all of the emotions rushed me. Happiness. Anger. Sadness. Joy. Despair. Hope.
I silently cried as I ended up deleting all of them.
All of them, except for that one.
