With my decision in mind to say yes, I was also very stressed with the fact that I had to adjust to a new home in so little time. Even though I am so grateful that I am out of that heck hole, I am nervous. I didn't sleep good last night and with Max lying about being my boyfriend, he got to stay the night. He cares. I am lying down on the hard hospital bed trying to find a comfortable spot. The rustling wakes Max up.

"Are you okay, Faith?"

"To be honest, not really," I sigh, "I wish this bed was more comfortable."

"Random question. Do you think it would help if I lied with you?"

"Maybe. You don't have to."

"Whatever makes you comfortable Faith."

He gets up out of the chair and lies next to me on the bed. He puts his masculine arms around me and I bury my head in his chest. He was right. This did help.

"This better?" He asks.

"Actually yes." I giggle.

He pulls me in tighter and I savor the smell of him. The smell I cannot describe. With it being so early in the morning, I would think that he would be dead asleep.

"You sound really sleepy."

"That's because I was staying up all night worrying about you."

"Please don't Max. It is about time you start thinking about yourself."

"I can't."

"Why?"

"I just can't. Okay?"

I let out a deep sigh.

"Okay. I won't push you."

A few minutes later, he is in a deep sleep, and I can hear little snores. Personally, I don't even mind his snores. They're quite adorable. They eventually lull me to sleep.

I wake up the next morning and he is gone. I guess he left sometime during the night. He comes back to the room and pulls the chair up to my bed.

"My mom is going to be here soon."

I start to breathe a little faster. He notices my uneasiness. He touches his hand to my shoulder.

"Hey. No need to be nervous. She is the nicest person I know."

"That may be true, but she is practically going to be my new mom."

"Good or bad thing?"

"I don't know."

Which is a true fact. I really have no idea. My life is going to change in a matter of days.

About an hour later, a woman enters the room. She has dark brown hair and she is tall. Just like Max. She has what looks like an extremely expensive purse hanging on her shoulder and a smell that I miss so much fills the room. My mom. She disappeared a few years ago. When my father left us, she went into a downward spiral. She started drinking and going to clubs, and that's when she met John. After she abandoned us, John started to take all his anger out on me. Hence the reason I am in this hospital bed.

"Hi Faith. My name is Amy."

"Hi." I say shyly.

"I will give you two some room." says Max, and he leaves.

He walks out of the room.

"I am so sorry this happened to you. I feel terrible that a human being would ever do that to another person. It breaks my heart. When Max told me about this whole situation, I knew I had to do something. We would like to take you in. I feel very confident with my decision, but it is your choice. I believe you have already thought about it?"

" Yes. I have."

"Well let me know what you decide."

"I have already decided."

She looks at me like she is expecting something.

"Yes. I would love to come and live with you."
