Faith POV

After getting home from my talk with Kaden, I went straight to my room and lied there on my insanely comfortable bed looking up at the ceiling. I'm glad he is so understanding. I could never ask for a better best friend.

Just then I hear my door open and I look to see who it is. Obviously it is Max.

"Hey, beautiful. How did it go?"

Beautiful..

I could feel my cheeks turning red again so I hide my face in my pillow.

"Oooh! I love this game. I like to call it 'How red can Faith's cheeks get?'"

"Oh my gosh you nerd." I say as he takes my small hand in his bigger one and plants soft kisses on it.

He looks at me and smiles.

"What?"

"Oh you know what." I say back to him.

He continues to kiss all the way up my arm, until eventually he gets to my neck and I try to hide the satisfaction. Then he does something I don't expect at all. He puts his hands on both sides of my face and brings his lips to mine. At first I don't know what to do because nobody has ever kissed me before. I have no idea what I'm doing, but Max obviously does. So I decide to kiss him back and follow his lead. My arms find their way around his neck. His soft lips move against mine and right when I start wanting more, he pulls away. He puts his forehead on mine and caresses my cheek.

Wow.

My eyes are still closed because I don't want it to end.

"You good?" He asks me.

"What was that for?" I ask.

"I guess I wanted to know what it felt like to kiss the most beautiful girl I've ever met."

He really is good at making me blush.

"Haha! I win! Your cheeks are so red right now." He says as he claps and laughs like a little kid.

"Wow. Just wow," I say, "And for your information. It went great. He's a really understanding guy."

"I'm glad." He replies as he entwines our fingers together.

What is he trying to do here? Kill me? Probably.

"Max?"

"Hmm?"

"I want to tell you something." I say.

"Yes?"

I hesitate. "That was... my first kiss."

He honestly looked kind of shocked.

"Crap. I assumed that a girl as beautiful as you were would have had one by now. If I had known, I would've made it more spe-"

I don't know what came over me in that moment. But I just took his face and kissed him again. Sure this still made me a little nervous, but it was wonderful and nerve wracking all at once. Why on earth was he so hard to resist? Our lips moved together in perfect synchronization. It felt so good and right. Wait. Faith. What are you doing? I pulled away.

"I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me."

"For a first time kisser, you're pretty good." He said to me still in a daze.

That made my cheeks turn red yet again and I covered my face with my hands.

"Hey. Don't hide that beautiful face." He pulled my hands away from my face and made me look at him. "Don't be embarrassed."

He looked in my eyes with concern. "You look tired. Have some rest, and I'll see you later." He gives me one more kiss on the cheek and gets up from my bed and leaves.

Did that just happen? Did I just kiss Max Ryder? Twice?

I think I'm starting to have feelings for him...

Max's POV

Faith. Faith. Faith.

They was all that was going through my head. Literally nothing else. She may have thought that the kiss I gave her was just meant to make her blush, but to me... It was so much more than that. Oh that beautiful strong girl. She really had a way of getting to me. Why is she so hard to resist? I've never had feelings like this before. I walk downstairs to the kitchen where my mom is cooking dinner.

"Hey sweetie." She says from the stove.

"Hey mom." I reply with kind of a sad tone in my voice.

She notices and immediately turns to me with a concerned look on her face.

"You like her a lot don't you?" She says. I look at her in shock.

"Why would you say that? It wouldn't be right. It wouldn't.." I caved, "Yes... I do.."

"I KNEW IT! YES!"

"Ssshhh. Don't be too loud. She's resting."

"What did you expect my reaction to be. You guys are perfect for each other."

I cover my face with my hands. "You're so embarrassing mom," I say, "wait.. Really? You think so?"

"I know so. You saved her life. I'm sure she feels the same way." She says.

I think about it for a while. "No there's no way. We might be moving too fast. I couldn't resist and I kis-"

"You kissed her?!"

"Mom," I whisper shout, "remember she's resting."

"You kissed her?" She whispered.

"Yes mom. And she kissed me back."

I love my mom because of the fact that I can talk about these things with her without it being weird.

"I knew this was going to happen." She said clapping her hands, "you need to tell her how you feel."

"I probably should, shouldn't I?"

"When she wakes up, you go upstairs and you go and tell her."

"I'll do it. I'll tell her."
