Alex. That's her name, plain, boring. Alex. That's the name of the girl who sits in the back, never smiles and when she does it fades. The name of the girl with braclets half ways up her arms...The name of the girl who finds 'happy'.
New school, new people, new way to survive, but she did it each time she had to come to a new place she stood tall so what made this time any different? The girl who she looked at everytime she needed a smile, the girl who's eyes always gleamed when she looked at her.
Brooke. That's the name of the girl Alex always noticed. Always blushed around. The girl who Alex felt so strongly about that it confused her heart, her emotions and her mind. Brooke was beautiful.--"Shit! Get the fuck out of my way fucking freshmen!" Some girl yelled at Alex as her books fell down and paper clattered everywhere around her. She rushed to pick them up before anyone noticed her and spoke to her, she was socially awkward no matter how hard she tried to speak only mixed words of clamed letters formed and spilled and rolled off of her tongue. She headed into her next class, Brooke sat in her seat smiling getting along with everyone. Alex found her way to a seat right next to Brooke.
"Hey, I'm Brooke." She smiles brightly and looked Alex's way.
"U-uh I'm uh, I'm Alex." Alex smiled back trying not to stare at her, but failing.
Brooke blushed because she could feel Alex's eyes on her, and could hear the shuffling of Alex's books and papers as she tried not to make it obvious that she couldn't keep her eyes off of her. Class lasted to long. Alex's daily routine involed napping or doodling, but always staying quite. She was never at school for her next block, pysical education, she couldn't change in front of people...there were scars and cuts all over her body from battles she had faced against herself.
"Hey! Alex!" Brooke yelled at her from down the hall.
Alex shot around, "Uh, yeah?" She tried not to make eye contact as she knew that she would just stare. Damn, she was stunning. "You forgot this, I may of looked at it, I'm sorry, it's really good though." She said as she handed Alex a peice of paper that had a doodle on it of a few pokemon she liked. "What class are you walking to Alex?" She asked. Alex stood in silence and it took an embarassing 10 seconds for her to responed. "Math, with Richardson." She said calmly.
"Can I walk you maybe?" Brooke said looking down and fiddeling with her jacket sleeves.
"Y-yeah I'd like that!" Alex blurted out slightly stampering. 'God, you're fucking sutble you dumbass' She thought to herself and smiles walking beside Brooke as they head to her math class, they spoke in distance and made conversation over small topics that most people wouldn't even bother to find out about one another. Alex casually catched glances of Brooke, and she doesn't even notice that Brooke catches the same glances out of the corner of her eye. "Well uh this is my class..." Alex said, "Will you meet me here after and I will return the favor and walk you to your class?" She smiled trying to be cute but she's pretty sure she just looked fucking stupid. Alex thought, 'You don't even know if she plays for the same team calm down! Damn.' To her suprise Brooke answered quite quickly, "Of course!" She said she smiled and kissed Alex on the cheek and walked aways slightly bounching.
'Whoa you have it bad.' Alex though as she smiled and watched Brooke head into her class and she felt the bright cherry red coloring form under her eyes and across her nose.
All through out math class Alex waiting in silence hoping that soon the bell would ring and she could leave this class. She didn't nap or doodle or write she just sat.
*Ring Ring*
Alex stood up quick and gathered all the blank paper off her desk and waited outside for Brooke. She came down the hall smiling at everyone and as Alex saw that smile she just thought, 'How does she do it....be happy all the time, smile at everyone, she makes it seem pe--' Brooke smiled, "So I have Biology, it's on the other side of the school do you want to actually go...or maybe go out?" Alex waited to answer slowly trying to pick a correct answer. 'Maybe if she says yes it could impress Brooke? Or maybe Alex has the wrong idea all together, after all she's, Alex. Plain, boring. Alex.'
"Uhm sure I'd like that." Alex said trying to cover up the fact that she was new at this whole ditching school thing. "Sweet!" Brooke said grabbing her hand tightly and leading her down the hall and out the doors of a fire exit that nobody ever used or payed attention to anymore, because in the school they're in...Who the fuck would have the time to set a fire? 'Wait a second,' Alex looked down turning just about 50 shades of pink and red 'God...She's great.'
They left the school and ran off the school yard heading into a small cafe a street or two away. Heading in they were breathless and slightly sweating because even though they were already off the school yard they didn't stop running...The fuck. Alex didn't even like running. She smiled at Brooke and they order their meal and sat enchanging random thoughts and conversations mostly based of music and how damn suckish this whole 'living, learning, dying' bullshit was. Brooke mentioned a boy a few times, and it had Alex wondering. "So, do you have a boyfriend or anything?" Alex asked...'Smoooooth'
"Well I did...I mean I liked him and I guess he wanted to like me too, but he just didn't...couldn't. We are different people and I can't change that so why should it matter, and after me and my ex-girlfriend broke up he tried to be there for me, but his world was....falling apart, and he wouldn't let me in...wouldn't let me help." Brooke said looking down. Alex could tell the topic was sad and Brooke didn't want to talk about it so she didn't even flinch at the fact that Brooke liked boys and girls. She moved closer to Brooke and put her arms around her bringing her in closely. Brooke's deep, strong mint life saver brushed Alex across the nose and Brooke breathed deeply trying not to cry. Alex knew this is what she was doing because Alex used the tenique alot. Brooke snuggled herself up in Alex's jacket and Alex...she enjoyed having her so close to her, she could feel her heartbeat it was nice. Alex did what she felt was necessary she went in to kiss Brooke's head and Brooke looked up just in time and then------
