"how could you tell?" i joked. coming as an infamous freak in a movie named after himself was a smart move.
"you're very sarcastic." he didn't sound like he hated the fact--he was just stating it.
"yeah," i sighed, suddenly feeling like i was a bit overbearing. "sorry."
"don't be. too many serious people in the world."
"are you one of them, or are you an in-between kind of guy?" i had decided to tone my aura down a notch and simply let my arms hang by my sides.
the ghost standing beside me didn't answer, despite the amount of seconds that ticked by as i waited. he just focused on my feet that were adorned in dirty vans (the very pair i had trudged through ms. jones' yard the day before) before changing the subject. i wasn't annoyed by the lack of response, but a tad disappointed. i wanted to have the guy figured out by the end of the night.
"wanna visit another stranger's party?" the boy asked.
"like who's?"
"i don't know--i guess we'll just find the next door that's unlocked."
