Chapter 25
I stood a few houses down from Beau, with my arms wrapped around me shivering. I wasn't sure whether I was shaking from the cold or from my nerves. I had never done anything like this and I was pretty scared.
Needless to say, after much protesting (mostly only part) and questioning (mostly everyone else), we were standing here, ready to litter Beau's yard and house with toilet paper rolls.
"Let's do this," Grace said with a ferociousness that I didn't know she was capable of.
Even though we weren't able to get much information out of her, we picked up enough to know she was very upset with Beau.
I went with Lou to one side of the yard while Jo and Grace took the other side. Since I had no idea what I was doing I started to unroll the toilet paper and awkwardly drape it around low hanging branches and bushes.
"You have to do it faster than that," Lou whisper-complained. "Here. Watch me."
She unrolled her toilet paper roll a little bit and tossed it into the tree in front of us. Much to my surprise it stayed up there and even unrolled a little more.
"And I thought you were the good one," I joked.
"When you've been friends with Grace for as long I have, you learn a few things," she smirked, continuing to teach me her ways. "And as for these bushes and low branches, just drape the toilet paper around it quickly. We don't have much time," she had barely finished the sentence when the lights on the porch flickered on.
I shrieked then covered my mouth with my hand to try and cover it up.
"Come on," Lou whispered, grabbing my hand. "We gotta go."
Lou dragged me along side her as we silently ran through Beau's yard. We had parked Grace's car a few blocks down so we wouldn't be caught. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but now, as we were running through the neighborhood, I was starting to question http logic.
We slowed to a fast walk once we got a few houses away. I was breathing heavily, but not so loud that I didn't hear the pounding footsteps behind me.
I whipped my head around, ready to start running again, but it was just Jo. I breathed a sigh of relief between my heavy breathing caught Lou's attention.
"Jo's here," I motioned behind us to where Jo was catching up with us.
"Hey guys," she huffed, coming to a stop next to us.
"Where's Grace," Lou asked, looking behind Jo as if Grace would just appear.
"I thought she was with y'all," Jo said gaped, wide eyed.
"You mean we have to go back?"

Even though we snuck back into Beau's yard and quietly as we could, it turns out we didn't have to. Grace's shouts could be heard from all over the neighborhood.
"Oh don't feign innocence with me. I saw you with her."
"Grace I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. I was with you practically the whole night," a deeper voice argued back.
"Yeah and when you weren't with me you were hooking up with some chick who's probably an underclassman." Grace's voice was starting to become shrill and that only meant she was on the cusp of breaking.
We all moved behind a taller shrub where we could watch the argument without interrupting. It was a great view.
Grace was standing a couple of feet away from Beau and she looked furious. Beau looked like he wanted to move closer, but he never moved.
