I jolted awake, startled by the sudden sound.

I gripped the sides of the shower and pulled myself up from my sleepy position. I guess I had fallen asleep in the tub. Which meant he had left me in here.

I tried to ignore the pain forming in my chest with the realization. My mate didn't love me, and had left me in the bathroom for God knows how long. I didn't know what time it was, because there wasn't any windows in here.

I sighed, trying to control the wave of emotions that came over me. All i wanted was a mate that loved me. Was that too much to ask?

I was jolted out of my thoughts when I heard yelling from the other room. I got up and quietly put my ear to the door.

"...what do you mean, dead?" I heard my mate's angry voice through the door.

"I'm sorry, alpha, it all just happened-" then i heard a sickening crack, and the sound of a body crumple to the floor. I put my hand over my mouth to mask my horror.

I scurried away from the door as I heard footsteps coming closer. I crawled back in the shower, hoping that if my mate came in, by some miracle he wouldn't see me. I knew it was stupid, but hey. A girl could dream.

The bathroom door swung open, and I held my breath. I only heard my heart pounding in the few moments of silence that enveloped me.

Suddenly, the shower curtain was jerked back, revealing my mate with an annoyed look on his face.

"Come," he told me. My wolf growled in rage. I was not some lap dog that would obey orders.

"Kiss my ass," I said, seething. He thought he could slaughter my pack, kidnap me, and lock me in a bathroom, and I would do what he said? He must be insane.

He pursed his lips in anger and frustration, and grabbed ahold of my arm. He yanked me up off the floor and pulled me out of the bathroom. I spotted the dead body in the middle of the floor. It looked to be a man in his early twenties. I shook my head. He was so young. It was wrong.

I tried to pull his hand away. "Let go of me," I yelled. He never replied.

He drug me into a clearing towards the outskirts of the camp. So far, it looks like there was nothing but trees and old leaves littering the ground. But as we got farther into the forest, I noticed about ten people were there. Some were standing, but most were on the ground.

"Why am I here," I mumbled to him.

I noticed that the people on the ground had their hands tied behind their backs, and some of them were my pack mates. Others were probably rogues. He stopped me in front of them.

"Which of these people are part of your pack? He asked. I hesitated. I didn't know why he wanted this information, or what he was going to do with it.

"Why do you want to know?" I asked him.

"It doesn't matter," he said.

I narrowed my eyes. "It definitely does matter," I said.

"Tell me and I'll let them go," he said. I looked up, and my grey eyes stared into his gold and red ones. I didn't see any sign that he was lying, or that there was any hidden deceit in his words. But that didn't mean anything.

"You won't hurt my pack?" I asked, trying trying to sound confident, but even I could hear the uncertainty and fear in my voice.

"I won't," He said. It didn't seem like he was lying. And if I refused to tell him, I was afraid he would hurt me or someone else until he got his answer.
