"She was pure"--
SKYLER
"Come on, let's go. It'll be fun," Jason urged, tugging at my wrist.
"No, Jay, this doesn't seem like a good idea..." I muffled, trying to stop him.
"We won't get in trouble, I promise," he looked at me. I look up giving him a hesitant look, not sure.
"I don't know... we don't even have the keys. We could get in a lot of trouble."
"But we won't, I have the keys right here, after all I think you're forgetting who I am ." Jason dangled the car keys in front of me as a smirk tugged at the ends of his lips. I didn't know how he got them, but the boy always had his ways.
I stared at the newest edition of the Ford Mustang. It was bright in color and looked so fresh. Cars never caught my interest, but this one looked so nice. And Jason wanted to go for a bit of a "joyride" with me. It was right there parked on the street in front of our houses, too. How could I say no ?
"Please ?" Jason begged, as I reluctantly nodded my head, knowing this was a bad decision.
Jason Arrowood , the psychotic friend. He was always notorious and fearless. A no good kid, Always up to trouble. Him and me were about the same age, we grew up together but he had moved back to his birth home when I had finally found out he was a part of the biggest gang's in England and that's when the members found out about me. That's where everything spiraled.
Though he always got me into trouble, And I always kept him grounded, for the most part. He viewed me as a good influence on him, while my parents saw him as a bad influence on me. They promised to push me away from him, even though, mentally, I knew I couldn't.
It was something about him that pulled me every time. No matter what the deal was, I always found myself involved with him. At some point he had promised me that he wouldn't get involved again with the mafia as long as he was around me, for my sake.
Lucky me, you might think. Even though they would always tell me he's no good for me, it just never made sense in my head. They didn't know him like I did. And they never will. No ones trusted him around me. But he's Jason, I mean, who really could tell him no ?
I got in the passenger side as Jason got in the driver's seat. It was late at night, meaning hardly anyone was out driving. It was the perfect time for to speed down the England roads.
Jason revved the engine before shooting down the road. He sped down, zooming through everything. He wailed, cheering loudly. He took out his phone, seeing an AUX cord.
"Plug it in will you? Put on Rizzle." I did as told, plugging in his phone. I unlocked it, going to his music where I started playing Rizzle Kicks.
I couldn't help but poorly sing along to one of their most famous songs, Down with the Trumpets.
I let loose, singing and laughing. Jason continued to speed down until his phone started ringing. Jason immediately pulled over, turning off the car.
He picked up the phone, almost anxiously. It was one of his "friends", I guessed. I leaned in and noticed a voice come from the other line of the phone, a rough voice.
"Yeah ?" he answered casually. almost too casual.
"Where did you leave the packages of drugs and newly bought guns ?" I heard the commanding voice speak from the other line.
"I don't think this is an appropriate time, shall I go over later at night, maybe tomorrow to discuss this." he looked over at me, smiling cheekily trying to pull it off.
