I woke up to the shrill electric sound of my alarm clock beeping. I was reluctant to get out of bed, and I probably wouldn't have, had today not been special. I got up and quickly took a shower, letting the hot liquid pelt my skin awake. I dried my hair, brushed my teeth, put on nice clothes, and braided the top of my hair, making it look like I was wearing a crown. I did a little curtsy in my bathroom mirror to make the day fun, and checked myself for any imperfections. I made my way back into my room and grabbed my small backpack and put my wallet and phone inside a zipper pouch. This day could not go wrong, because today was special.

This was the day my boyfriend comes back to me.

I heard the familiar sound of an old truck horn and happily made my way downstairs. "Bye Mom, bye Dad". They didn't hear me, too busy watching the news on some foreign country that they probably never heard about until now. I opened the front door and shut it behind me, making my way over to the forest colored GMC Sonoma that was owned by the one and only, Tobias Green. I smiled as I got into the truck and studied his features. His too bright blonde hair shone in the sun coming in through the windshield, and his sparkling green eyes shone even brighter. His smile was so true it would light up your whole day if you got a sneak peek, and his skinny form made him look young and strong.

"Hi." I said, my voice a little weird from the morning grogginess. "Hi beautiful" he replied with the raspiness of his natural voice. "How was the contracting trip with your uncle? Did you build a lot of houses for the people who lost their homes?" He chuckled and smiled over at me "Yes, we built a LOT of houses." I couldn't help but smile at him, he made it so easy. Just one look from him and-- "So, what are our plans for today?" He interrupted my thoughts and put his truck in reverse, backing out of the driveway. "Oh," I said "I don't know, anything you want. I'm just happy you're here right now and I know you're alive" He smiled over at me again and started driving toward town. "Anything, huh?" He glanced over and smirked lightly. I laughed "Yes, anything, as long as it doesn't involve me in a heist or kidnapping" He laughed a hearty laugh, "How did you know I was thinking of saying that? Did you study mind reading while I was away?" I looked out the window and saw a farmer checking his cotton to see if it was ready to be picked. "Call it a woman's intuition."
