Shi-Shi was know for being one of the most beautiful woman in the world!
Many people of the town said she was more beautiful than the sun rising over the horizon of mountains. A few said she was more beautiful than the pearls on the necklace she wore everyday. Every woman always loved how kind Shi-Shi was as well.
Shi-Shi always kept a basket full of rice balls, by her side, so anytime she saw someone in need, she'd always give them a plate full. She'd put her hand on her heart and wrinkle her eyebrows. She always had a warm smile with her. All of the people of the streets said the sweets were sweeter than the nectar of the beautiful lotus's and orchard's blossoms.
Everytime Shi-Shi would walk around town, everyone complimented her beauty and said that she was so kind and caring for others. One day, when she was walking down the streets, she saw an old man getting yelled at by the rent man. The rent man left, stomping away, with the old man crying on the steps.
"Sir?" she said, "Is there something wrong?"
He old man looked up, with tears streaming down his face.
"Young one," he said, sniffling, "For the rent man said if I don't have the money to pay for this home, he'll send me and my sick wife out to the streets."
Shi-Shi put her hand on her heart and wrinkled her eyebrows. She then took off her pearl necklace and gave it to the man.
"Take this," she said, "You need it much more than I do."
"But child," he protested, "This is your necklace. I can't take something as beautiful and valuable as you from you!"
Shi-Shi smiled at the man.
"That's just a simple necklace I bought years ago. I don't have much use for it."
The old man touched each and every one of the shining pearls.
"Thank you child," he said, crying tear of joy.
"I hope your wife feels better."
Everyone loved Shi-Shi's acts of kindness, but there was one girl that was quite envious of Shi-Shi's beauty. Everyday, when she looked into the mirror, while brushing her hair Shi-Shi would always come into view. Dung-Shi snarled at Shi-Shi.
"Oh, you think you're so beautiful!" she scowled, "Psh, what makes you more beautiful than me?"
So, one day, Dung-Shi followed Shi-Shi, and studied what she did that made her so beautiful. She then saw Shi-Shi giving a plate of rice balls to a young woman with a baby. Dung-Shi looked at the face Shi-Shi had made. Her hand was on her heart, and her eyebrows were wrinkled. The woman even told her that she was beautiful!
"I know just what to do to make myself look beautiful!" Dung-Shi said to herself.
So everyday, Dung-Shi would walk around and she would bend her eyebrows and put her hand on her heart, when she saw a poor person. Everyone looked at Dung-Shi, with a huge glare in their eyes.
"What a foolish girl!" someone said, "She's trying to act like she cares about any of us. She only care for her own self!"
No one thought Dung-Shi was kind or beautiful.
"Why doesn't anyone think that I'm pretty?" Dung-Shi thought to herself, "I'm doing everything Shi-Shi does, so what am I doing wrong?"
The answer was right in front of Dung-Shi.
Shi-Shi was giving food and money to the ones in need. Shi-Shi was beautiful, but she never said out loud that she was. She was very modest. She was kind and caring!
For the beauty in Shi-Shi didn't come from the way she looked. Her beauty came from the acts of kindness she did. Every little thing she had done for someone in need gave her the essence of beauty she has.
For kindness give beauty to everyone.
