My bed is soft, and the yellow sheets smell of rose petals and hibiscus flowers. It's almost as though the room has been showered with a sense of comfort.
I feel it.
The people mumble and watch television in the room next to the kitchen. The aroma is earthy; I feel as though people don't realize it. Everyone is simply looking at the screen in silence.
I can smell the discomfort in the air; it's emitting from their bodies along with the smell of sweat.
The water sprinkles over my warm body, and I drop the bottle of shampoo. The cap breaks and the liquid spills all over the base of the tub.
People are knocking on the door.
I don't hear it over the pounding rush of blood in my ears.
