Is Falling in Love a Mistake?

"Seriously Sara, you like him?" 

Haley, my classmate as well as a bestfriend, talked to me as I shared who's my crush. We were talking at my locker, getting some books.

"Why? Is there any problem?" I asked,

"No no no. There isn't. But, of all the guys around, why Leo? You know he already had a girlfriend?" She said to me with a shocking reaction.

"You know what? Maybe I was right. Maybe I shouldn't tell you about this," I was annoyed.

"Well Sara, tell me," she exclaimed, "since when did you have a crush on Leo?"

"Since the beginning of time,"

I had a crush on Leo when I realized that I had feelings for him. I guess I was about... uh ... 14? Yeah 14. I remembered when I was sick and my parents were away. He was the only one who took care of me. Not my sister, not my brother,  but him. Leo. Leo de Rochefort.

"So you're saying, you're madly in love with him?" I didn't answer, and just walked. But Haley followed me. She's not contented of my silence, "Girl, you're just making yourself uh... sorry to say but stupid. I'm your bestfriend for about 3 years, hello.. And why do you-"

"-Okay," I talked after a 5 minute silence, "Is falling in love a mistake? I know that he had a girlfriend, Mandy, a cheerleader of his basketball team...  So what? Are you thinking I'm going to do bad to break their relationship? And hey, you did that to your boyfriend didn't you?" I wanted to end this conversation!

"You didn't get the point girl. Okay I admit it that I ruined the relationship of my boyfriend with his ex so that he would be mine. But, if you ain't gonna do what I say,"

"What did you say?" I asked, "I didn't say it yet but, go away with Leo. I'm your best pal. You tell your secrets to me that I didn't spill to everyone. You trust me... I'm just letting you know that, you're just wasting your time."

Well, she has a point. I'm just making myself tired. Besides, he's just my bestfriend, nothing more! "Guess you're right. But it may take few days to recover..."

"You got it. But, if you really like him, you can tell me. I'll be right here."  Haley is really my true friend. Although Leo is also my bestfriend, but I can't tell him that I love him. I'm so glad that Haley is here for me. 

The bell rang, "Oh, I gotta go..." Haley's leaving me. I'm afraid. It's like Haley is my protector. Not in fighting, but I feel like she's my sister. You know what I feel? I just hope you do.

Let's say that I am the uh... silent-type of girl in class but I am a pro in conversations. I gain a lot of friends, and they don't hate me. I don't know for the others. Even the bullies in school like me. I'm just a cheerful-type-of-girl and I'm very happy for this moment.

I accepted that Leo is not for me when he had a girlfriend. I accepted the fact the we're only friends. We have boundaries. But I was really hurt when he told me about having his first girlfriend, and that's Mandy, the cheerleader. Well, she's hot. Not like me, I dressed simple. She dressed so extravagant.  Leo told me that he liked Mandy because she's making him smile all the time. Well I'm making him LAUGH all the time. I don't know why he likes her. Sometimes, I compared myself to Mandy. And I always say that I'm better. Ha ha that is just normal for everyone who fell in love desperately. Hopelessly devoting to you. Well that's too much.

I just hoped that he will forget me!!!!
