Friend of Mine

Paris? With him? With Leo? Leo Only?

   Another Saturday morning. Yeah, yeah. 

   I'm all alone. My family went on a vacation. I know... Without me. I have school so I can't go with them.

   The telephone rang, "Hello?"

   "Sara!" he shouted at the telephone, he sounded like a crazy person, "Yo Leo! What's with you today? Feeling fresh, eh?" I answered, "Ha ha." a moment of silence, "Hmm.." he sighed. I know that there's another problem,

"Problem?" I asked, 

 "Well I am very bored today," he answered,

"Yeah? Where's your buddies?" Whenever he's bored, he goes to me. But this time, I'm trying to bug him away... "What do you mean buddies?" he asked with a little chuckle, "You know that whenever I'm bored, I always check out what is my cutie pie doin?" 

What the hell.. Cutie Pie? "Now will you shuddup? Why do you always..."

"Sh sh sh.. Not here on the telephone please.. Can we have fun together on this bright Saturday morning?" he asked me, "Oh you're saying you wanted to go out with me? Where's your girlfriend?" I said sarcastically. 

He hang up. 

Oops. Did I say something? "Wha-? why did he hang up? Did I say something?" I said to myself. Oh well. Let it be. I don't care if he's going to be angry with me. 

 I'm just happy I get to spend time with him even if he doesn't know how much i love and care for him.

I had my breakfast and I took a bath. I noticed that that there's no more cooking oil and some vegetables for later's lunch and dinner. I decided to go out and buy some groceries. Sitting at the couch and watching football matches all day on this bright wonderful Saturday morning is quite boring. I decided to eat outside rather than eat lunch at home. Just roam around.

Just as I get out from the door, I saw Leo going towards me. He saw me.

I was so afraid. About awhile ago. About hanging up on the phone. 

I didn't say a word but smiled instead. And walked away,

"Hey!" He shouted and ran towards me. I was relieved. I thought his mad at me. I stopped and wait for him. I didn't say anything. Just waiting for him. He was panting, "Why did you let me run to you?" he was quite tired and smiling, "So, where are you goin today?" he asked me.

"Grocery," I answered. You know, I feel very hopeless at him. I should not be cold to him, right? Yeah. I don't want to disappoint him, "Oh can I go to you then?"

"Sure"

We went to the grocery. It was only a walking distance. He was just smiling and I ignored him. Oh Yeah! I forgot! I should not be cold to him! "What? you're a vegetarian?" he asked, "I am. Problem?" I said, "Of all these years, I didn't know that!" he was trying to start a conversation. So obvious.

"What? If I'm your bestie you should know things about me. Like me," I was choosing some dairy milks and vegetables, and I continued, "I know your favorite dishes. French dishes. That's why whenever I go to your house I always bring some ingredients to cook French," 

"Oh yeah.." he paused for a moment, "You know what? I notice something strange." he said   "Strange?"  I asked, "Yes. It seems like you're not visiting me anymore. You know my parents were away five years ago. And you promised me that you'll take care of me? You remember?"

Oh. My. God. I said to my mind. Yeah. I promised to him. When we were 14, I had a terrible disease and he was the one who took care of me. And when I was well, as a repayment, I promised that I will take care of him until his parents are back. But still, we will be best friends even his parents are around. Right now, I've been not visiting him since he had Mandy. What the hell... I'm so doomed.

"Oh. About that. I'm very sorry. Okay I will he he," I said desperately.

After the grocery, we ate outside and we hang out at the park. He started sharing about Mandy. I listened very eagerly. We were sitting at the grass, "Oh.. Mandy," he exclaimed, "She's really beautiful. I think I'm the luckiest guy in the world."

"And why is that?" I asked, hoping that his answers are not convincing. I'm so desperate!

"Because, she.. She has everything!" he answered,

"Like what?" I asked, "I don't know." My mind was telling me to say that she is not the best but I am! "Your answer is not convincing. I've known you all my life. You're a friend of mine. And I've known you for years."

He was staring at me, "What?" I asked,

"You know what? I think I spend more time with my best friend than my girlfriend. I feel very comfortable with you Sara,"

OH MY HOLY PAJAMAS, "why?" I said it. Hoping not be too obvious.

"I just don't know. And you always ask me about Mandy. I mean, if I'm going with you, you will always ask 'where's your girlfriend?'. It annoys me."

I was about to answer him but..

Madam Roberts, our principal saw us hanging out, "Leo? Sara?"

"Oh, good day madam," Good manners first ha ha

She came near to us, and stared for about 3 minutes, it was weird. She finally spoke, "hanging out on a bright Saturday morning huh?"

"Yeah, well I just figured we could have fun together," Leo answered. "Have fun? What If I'll say you come with me?"

Uh-oh. We didn't do anything! Even private life you intrude! How dare you madam! Ha ha

We sat on a French cafe, just near to the beach. My place is near to beach opposites to the park and city. She spoke to us, "Leo, Sara." We listened, "Do you like going to Paris? You two?"

We were dumbfounded, "Seriously? Madam?" Leo was so excited I know. It was his dream to go to Paris, "Yes, you two."

I was like what? Only us? "What do you mean madam? Only us?"

"Yes. It's a school event actually,"

Am I going to be excited? Or be mad? I'm trying to get over him! Why is this happening to me!!!!!!!????
