Skyler's P.O.V

"What the hell are you doing to my car?" I blurt out. He stops and stares at me for a while in shock.

"Wow...most people would be more worried about the fact that there's a total stranger in their garage." He says with a sly smirk.

"Well your not exactly a stranger..." I mumble.

"Give me your car keys." He demands.

"What?"

"Your car keys. Give them to me."

"Why?"

"Just give them to me."

"No!"

"Look, I don't have time for this! Give me the god damn keys!"

"No!"

Suddenly he launches himself towards me and pins me against the garage wall.

"I said, Give.me.the.keys!"

I stare into his emerald green eyes, unable to speak.

"I swear, if you don't give me the keys I'll have to do something I'll regret!" He hisses.

I stop for a second, and then sigh. "I'll give you the keys..." I start. "If...you take me with you." It's a crazy idea I know. I want to run away with a criminal. But I don't care. There's nothing for me here except a boring summer ahead of me, I guess you could call it an adventure.

He stares at me for a while with his big emerald green eyes and the finally speaks.

"What? No! Are you crazy? The cops are after me and you want to come...with me?!" He snaps.

"Am I coming with you or not?"

"No."

"Fine. No keys then."

"Fine I'll just go find another car."

"No you won't."

"And why's that?"

"Because I have a phone."

"So?"

"So I'll call the cops to come and get you if you don't take me." I say with a crooked smile.

He pauses for a second and looks back at the car, then looks at me again.

"You bitch."

"I know." I say gleefully, knowing I've won.

"We'll it's not my fault if you get hurt. It'll be dangerous." He says trying to convince me not to come with him.

"That's fine." I say still staring into his eyes. He scowls at me and grunts.

And with that, pull myself away from him and dart upstairs to my bedroom.

"What are you doing?" I hear him whisper loudly behind me.

"Just getting some stuff!" I whisper back. I turn round to see him sigh and roll his eyes as he leans agains the car. I know he hates me for this, but I don't care.

When I get into my bedroom I stand in the middle of the room and scan round looking for what I should take with me. I grab a huge black backpack and force open the zips.

My phone, snacks, bottles of water, clothes, a fluffy coat, toiletries, a passport, a camera, and a purse full of money that I was intending to save up for my driving lessons. Done. Wait. No. Not done. I see an empty scrapbook my mother gave me when I was fifteen to 'show my life through pictures' I never really got round to using it but maybe it will come in handy now.

Once I've shoved everything inside my backpack, I remember my mother. She'll panic so much as soon as she realises I'm gone. But I can't exactly leave a note saying I've run off with a criminal because I'm bored in my life and want an adventure. No. I'll do something to symbolise that I'm okay. But until then, I would just have to lay low and hope she doesn't do anything drastic.

When I get back down to the garage I see Harley still leaned up against my car with his arms folded, he looks extremely annoyed but he's just going to have to deal with it. I get in the passenger seat of the car and hand Harley my keys. He snatches them from me and starts up the car.

When I throw my backpack into the back of the car I notice another huge backpack similar to mine sat next to it. It must me Harley's. He obviously came prepared.

"Why couldn't you have just taken your car?" I ask curiously as he backs out of the driveway cautiously.

"They've taken my car because they didn't want be to make a break for it. Idiots." He grumbles under his breath.

"So why choose to steal my car?" I ask.

"One because you don't drive yet anyway so I figured you wouldn't miss it, and two because I thought you were still at that lame party." He says harshly.

Yes I would miss it. I think. And why would I want to stay any longer at that stupid party? But I don't say anything.

Then I have another thought. Why was he on the run from the cops In the first place? What could he have possibly done to have the whole neighbourhood on lockdown and the police knocking on everyone's doors and searching people's houses?

"What did you do anyway?" I ask nervously.

"Nothing! I did nothing!" He mutters under his breath.

"But you must have done someth-" but before I can Finnish, I feel his hand grasp my arm tightly. He jerks me closer to him and stares at me with his piercing green eyes.

"I said. I did nothing. Now drop it!" He shouts. I stare at him nervously until he finally lets go of my arm. I decide not to go any further into the subject.

I watch him keeping his head low as about six cop cars drive past. I wonder what he did? It can't have been a simple shop theft, or trespassing over private property. No. This was much more serious.

"Where are we going?" I ask to break the silence.

"I don't know." He says bluntly as he stares at the road ahead.

This makes me feel a little nervous but I don't show it, I got myself into this. So there's no backing out. After a while I decide to look out the window to take my mind off things, there's no more police cars now. Just the open road. We're no longer in our neighbourhood. We're not even in our town anymore. To be honest, I'm not sure where we are. So I hope Harley does.
