And after that day, Leigh definitely hadn’t forgotten about Zayn. In fact, quite the opposite. She didn’t hesitate to text him that night, and somehow the little pixelated letters sparked something good. Something fresh for her. Though, normally she wouldn’t have been so eager. Not after her last relationship,Jordan. Jordan.
Even thinking the name made her cringe in fear. She couldn’t close her eyes after the mention of that name because she’d always envision his mighty fist coming mid-way towards her. She would be panting, forcing her eyes open quickly. She’d had dreams about him, especially right after getting away from him. Those were the sleepless nights where she would spring awake with tears oozing from her eyes, and sweat outlining where she layed. He was abusive. Mentally, and physically. He wouldn’t ever hesitate to decrease her self-worth and create horrible artwork on her skin with his bare fingers.
He definitely made his mark because she’d never forget him. And the long scar down her back could prove it.
She softly touched the smooth skin of her back, outlining the scar that stretched from the back of her armpit to the top of the small of her back.
She just barely touched the rim of the bottom half of it, but for some reason it still tears her up a bit to look at. She just shook her head, ridding herself of the thoughts. She had a date with Zayn tonight, well a group date once again, with the same crew. One Direction, and Perrie. Again, Leigh knew Perrie’s reputation, but she thought it would be good for Perrie to rebuild it, but on better terms.
“What is that?” Perrie asked, shock in her tone as she pointed to what lies on Leigh’s back. Leigh quickly slid on a bra and her tight dress smoothly, zipping up the back of it swiftly while going to her closet to throw on her stilettos, almost not even acknowledging Perrie’s question.
Perrie had started to get impatient. She walked to where Leigh sat at her vanity, and lightly tapped her shoulder. “What is that?” she asked again, but much softer. Leigh only bit her lip as she fought the tears she knew would come. Only a minimum amount of people knew about what had happened to her, and obviously Perrie wasn’t one of them. And she never did want Perrie or anyone else, but her mother to know.
“It’s nothing really Perrie, it’s just a scar from when I was little,” she lied, cracking a fake smile that Perrie could see right through. She knew Leigh wasn’t telling the truth, and she could have kept pestering her about it, but she chose to wait for a better time. She’d get it out of her eventually.
“Can’t get this damn makeup right!” she laughed lightly trying to change the subject as she sat at the chair of her vanity. Perrie only sighed cause the last thing she wanted to do was help Leigh. She despised the girl, and her success, and just… her.
“Let me,” Perrie said, smacking a fake smile on her face. Playing the friendly role all too well for naive little Leigh. She grabbed random makeup brushes and started to do work on Leigh’s eyes. Leigh’s lids fluttered shut as she waited patiently for Perrie to finish.
But as Perrie nearly finished, she slowed her motions a bit, only staring down at Leigh, but still moving so it wouldn’t alert her to look up. Leigh-Anne really was beautiful, and Perrie couldn’t stand that. She couldn’t stand that Leigh was so beautiful, that Leigh was so talented, that Leigh was so full of personality, that Leigh was so loveable, so…desirable.
She hated it with a burning passion because it should’ve been her, the only one out of Little Mix to make it the biggest. Her career hadn’t plummeted, but it didn’t soar either. And a stand still career wasn’t what Perrie was looking for. So, she only scoffed to herself as she finished up the last bits of Leigh’s face. “Okay,” Perrie spoke, “Finished.”
