Chapter 1.
~Islas POV~
I tapped my pen against the desk repetitively waiting for this torturous lesson to cease. I've never understood the relevance of math i am yet to discover at what point in my life i will need to know what the value of x is. Needless to say, i doubt i ever will.
'well that was the biggest load of fucking bollocks i have ever heard' Jade my best mate said as we swiftly made our way out of the muggy, sweaty classroom down the corridor in attempt to get to the canteen before herds of ravenous year sevens stumbled in . 'tell me about it, if i have to sit through one more lesson of Mr Riley trying to explain algebra to me i think i might just lose the will to live' i laughed slightly as we continued to make our way to the canteen for lunch.
shortly after we had made it in there alive we plonked ourselves in the usual corner away from the the madness. Penola was an alright school i suppose i mean i was an straight A student whether that be down to my insanley strict parents or the schools education system i am not sure, i suppose its mor e likely that i go with the first one, however the kids here are just insane. i swear me and jade and a couple of my other friends are the only level headed humans here, not one of the other pupils seem to have an ounce of intelligence in them.
'ughhh' Jade sighed rather loudly 'what?' i questioned as i took another bite of my sandwich 'i have chem next' as soon as she said chem i nodded mentally shes always hated chemistry i mean she can bearly manage to get herself a D never mind a C which she needs to get to pass the class, i on the other hand quite enjoy chemistry and the other sciences for that matter I'm not too sure whether i enjoy it because im good at it or if i enjoy it because i am practically forced to. my parents are pretty strict, always have been and probably always will be. In other words they think everything revolves around my bloody education and think having a social life is the least of my worries right now, as much as i appriciate the support to do well at times it can get a little annoying but besides its not like my social life is raging right now. so for now i guess ill keep my head down and get on with it.

After a horrendous day at the loony bin i finally began to walk home with Jade,Katie and Jaz aka the only sane people in my year possibly the entire school, like i said before. 'so cinema tonight whatcha say girls?' jade piped up 'would love to but..sadly i am tied down to maths revision my mum said if i dont manage to get a B by the end of the year she isn't letting me stay on for another year here and i will have to go private' i sighed 'well that's shit' jaz stated as we continued walking 'beyond shit' i muttered 'well this weekend then we have to go out i mean this is our last term before summer and we need to make it good' Katie finally spoke 'and before you say anything little miss perfect...we'll get around you're parents okay? we need to get out and party' HA party i thought my mother would die of death if she even thought about me going to a party i swear to god that woman was never a teenager. 'fine' i agrred knowing it would take more than a please and i promise ill behave to convince my mother to let me to a party. thats the sad reality of my life in a nutshell. aren't you so jealous?

~Lukes POV~
'Great, fucking great' i cursed when i got home to realise that my chemistry teacher had contacted my mum about my grades AGAIN, 'Luke you're going to have to sort yourself out and get you act together if you want to pass at the end of the year' my mum wittered on 'maybe if you boys stopped mucking around with that you tube shit you'd be passing' that's where my mum is wrong it wouldn't matter whether i continued posting janoskians videos or not i would still be failing because chemistry is beyond the normal levels of difficult. 'well it seems that your teacher is moving you up into a higher level working class to get you some extra help' my mum shouted up the stairs as i ran away from her continuous moaning. 'whatever' i yelled back.
